RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
The Bonus Funds scale is as follows:

$10.00 no bonus
$15.00 +$2.00 bonus
$20.00 +$3.00 bonus
$25.00 +$5.00 bonus
$40.00 +$10.00 bonus
$50.00 +$15.00 bonus

What is this? More wombat poo poo? I can't believe Poopers would want to invest EVEN MORE money in an UNPROVEN PROGAM. I suppose it's part of that "faith" issue. Could it be that Karay want to hit them up with as much $$ they can get from these folks before they figure out ZERO IS STILL ZERO no matter how much money you spend trying to make it into ONE. Why not take that $50 and buy Google AdWords? Or why not put 100 items up for auction on eBay? You're sure to get at least one sale, as opposed to paying Ray to preach to the choir, which results in NOTHING. This "vision" is getting pricier for Poopers every day.

RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
The post below that Christine grabbed last night has been (as predicted) DELETED from the Wagglepop boards.

wagglepop seller Wrote:I am confused about a few things and would like them addressed once and for all.

1) Below you will find the site goals for the next three years as stated in wagglepop today however it seems these goals are false or someone did not get to the corporate accountant at wagglepop after the fee increase on the big site and tell him his math is fuzzy. It seems to me that wagglepop has turned a small profit the past few months or they need to restate there goals so we don't think that. I remember back when I registered there were over 900 registered stores in September and over 100,000 listings as well. The store count has decreased but the listings have gone up. It has been stated that if your account was not in good standing you would be terminated. As of today 11/21/06 there is 701 stores ( 35 featured or showcase and 666 basic ) which translates to about $9000.00 in revenue for wagglepop each month. I would say the total site revenue with store fees and all other fees is less than $15000.00 a month although that is my estimate. Please restate the goals to reflect the correct "Break Even" mark or stop lying about a so called loss that wagglepop is having each month. The benchmark should match what you are saying or are we all taken for fools!

Date Benchmark Listings (All Formats) Stores**
As of 11/5/06 Current 158,841 724
June 2007 "Break Even" 35,000 700***
June 2008 Intermediate Goal 1% 550,000 1,250
June 2009 Site Goal 1.5% 825,000 1,875

2) Adsmart:
a) are you going to eliminate the featured listing option? It seems senseless to pay $4.95 to be at the top of a catagory when you can spend a dime for a keyword ad and be in a better spot.
b) isn't this just a simple keyword linked text ad?
c) also how will wagglepop copyright adsmart when this name is already owned by another website.
d) wouldn't it be better for wagglepop to purchase "adwords" off another site if you know what I mean to drive traffic to wagglepop?
e) isn't this just another way to bilk sellers of money for onsite advertising and shouldn't it be included in the smart sell pro package?
f) don't we have enough onsite advertising? wouldn't some good offsite advertising bring more buyers and sellers here if we are going to pay for it through adsmart?

3) Sales:
Does the sales report include sales that were bogus such as from scammers? If so can we get a more acurate number? For instance I have had 6 sales so far 4 of which were bogus from scammers. Is this accounted for in the sales report?

I have more but that is enough for now. Please clear up these issues in this post. If you disagree with these questions feel free to disagree. Proof is in the print and some would like to know.

REGARDING THE LAST POST: You're right. POOF, into thin air.

HEY, ANY OF YOU TT'ERS WHO ARE STILL POPPERS (Race, for example). Why not copy the deleted post and repost it? Because it was posted so early too early for anyone in Poopland to see it (which is part of the reason, I'm sure, that KaRay felt it was safe to delete), I think these poor Poopers should be given another chance.  In fact, why not post it in several threads? This pooper brought up some points we have all been wondering about (like the bogus sales numbers) that deserve to be highlighted.

Has anyone noticed that whenever a Pooper has the audacity to ask KaRay what he/they are doing with his/her money (as I did), the post gets deleted? And they call themselves a business?

Hello Members,

At this time and after some internal discussion, I would like to post a Board Participation Policy clarification, effective immediately.

I think there has been some confusion about what is and what is not allowed, and a failure overall to understand exactly how different our board is from eBay and other independent communities.

The first thing that should be read in support of this clarification is the current policy:

Board Participation Policy

The specific points for clarification are as follows:

1. Posts which are designed or appear designed to inflame or incite will no longer be tolerated, at the sole discretion of staff. Clarification of existing policy.

2. Posts which are outside of the "help and support" nature of the board will no longer be tolerated, at the sole discretion of staff. Clarification of existing policy.

3. Posts where members air personal issues with staff publicly will no longer be tolerated, at the sole discretion of staff. Clarification of existing policy.

4. Posts which "ridicule" other members or Wagglepop stated policy will no longer be tolerated, at the sole discretion of staff. Clarification of existing policy.

5. Issues with Wagglepop policy of an extreme nature should be sent direct to Customer Care. Public misbehavior or rudeness will no longer be tolerated. Clarification of existing policy.

6. Specific timetables concerning marketing will no longer be discussed by any staff member publicly on the boards in response to questions about marketing timetables. Clarification of existing Information policy.

7. Posts that are not constructive, courteous, and productive will no longer be tolerated. Clarification of existing policy.

Additional clarifications:

1. Posts that violate the existing Board Participation Policy and clarification points #1-8 above will be removed from the board, at the sole discretion of staff.

2. Zero tolerance policy. Members who violate the existing Board Participation Policy will be immediately sanctioned by either board restriction, suspension, or termination.

Notes:

Let it be known here and now that these boards are for members to help and support each other, and staff.

The kind of egregious nonsense that's allowed on most community boards is not allowed here.

Karen - WP Customer Care
Christine - WP Customer Care
Andrew - WP Customer Care / Director of Marketing & Development

It looks like they are returning to heavy censorship. They are now banning all posts outside of the "help and support" nature.  I added the bold to highlight some of the more interesting parts.

RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
TRANSLATION OF WP BOARD POLICY:
We are Gods, you are nothing. If you want to part of our elitist cult then you must be willing to kiss Bootyshake . Those who exhibit any degree of critical thinking or feel the need to act as individuals will be silenced at all costs.

For those of you who missed my list of "ways to identify cults" here are the applicable items:

4) censor criticism in whatever form it appears and chastise those who engage in critical thought

5) segregate, punish and banish dissidents as polluters of the purity and sanctity of the cause, and praise those that participate in this "cleansing"

8) carefully control the image of the movement by whatever means the leaders deem appropriate.

11) capitalize on the fears of followers and impress upon them that it is their duty and obligation to bring the “message” to the masses and recruit converts, as strength in numbers empowers the cause. Those under recruitment should consider it a privilege and an honor to be chosen to join the cult.

12) remind followers daily that they, and only they, are good and all others are evil. Only the leaders and followers who have taken the oath are to be wholeheartedly trusted.

16) never let followers believe they have power as individuals – it is only through their collective efforts can the goals of the leaders be achieved

17) followers must always believe that the ends justify the means, as questioning the means only distracts and delays the process necessary to achieve the ends.

20) use guilt, pity, and fear of reprisal liberally, as needed to control the followers, keep them loyal and amongst the flock.

21) leaders have the right to arbitrarily change the laws, policies, and procedures that govern their actions or the actions among the flock if they feel it is in their (the leaders’) best interests to do so. Since leaders have supreme wisdom, there is no need for followers to question leaders' decisions in these matters, nor would they, as they would not wish to risk abandonment from the cult or retribution from its leaders.

25) control and eliminate, if possible, the availability to information that might tarnish the image or destroy the credibility of the leaders, its followers, or the movement in general.

26) establish a set of “Commandments” that members most adhere to explicitly. Leaders, however
, are at liberty to step outside these commandments when it suits them, as they are the chosen ones

RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Hey everyone,

I personally know Toadgirl and tried to talk her out of going to WP but she wanted to give it a try, ask questions, etc.  She refused to read the boards on TT, but spent hours going through the WP boards.  (No I am not her, she is much better at arguing a point that I could ever be!)

Last night I got this message from her:

Quote:You were right, I don't know why I didn't listen, but I saw promise with WP and really thought it would be a great place to sell.  As I read through the boards I started seeing a pattern of doubletalk from Karen and avoidance of simple business type questions.  So as you know I started asking questions.

Last night just blew me away, I didn't realize there was a seller criteria for opening a store on WP.  From what I read and understood through all the masking that Karen spews, to be a seller on WP you don't want high volumes of traffic that generates buying customers.  Why be in business if you don't plan on making money?  You know me I don't like arguing.  I tried to keep myself on target with Karen and nobody else, it is really hard when others twist words to defend.

I put a lot of time into the spreadsheet I have been working on and have found that ecrater will take my spreadsheet and I can include photos, etc without having to go back in and add them once the information is uploaded, way cool!!!

Thank you so much for your attempts to open my eyes, I guess I had to get a kick in the ass before I saw the truth.  You won't be seeing me on the boards over there anymore and I won't even post that I have made my decision not to start a store on WP.

There are some really nice people there and I feel for them, I hope that others saw what I did.

Let your friends at the board you are always trying to get me to read know that I am glad that I didn't open my store there and I have "seen the light"  LOL!!!

Take care and are you still coming over for Thanksgiving??
(I have edited the part that went here, discussion of food for Thanksgiving)

PS  I looked up the meaning of TRUST
Trust (sociology), the willing acceptance of one's power to affect another

Chiquita, sorry but you won't be reading any more of her posts and based on the note that Karen/Christine? & Andrew? put out this morning it sounds like there won't be much on the boards anymore.

Notworthy Well done Sweet Girl!

Thank you for sharing that and I'm glad Toad Girl didn't invest/flush anything but a little time over there.

I noticed that a few stores have closed since last night, I wonder if it was forced or they were just disgusted by finally seeing the true colors coming out.

Sickening... but like I think someone here said (or similar)... its like a car accident. You know you shouldn't look but you just can't help it, lol.

The board participation at WP has been declining over the last 3 weeks or so. The new policies will probably turn it into a ghost town.  Sleepy1

:blinkie:

Toothy9 I am just so happy that Toadgirl finally saw the light.  Now I can sit at Thanksgiving dinner and not want to reach across the table and strangle her for wanting to open her store there!  Of course, it would make for an exciting dinner.  :turkey2:
