How many hardcore cheerleaders do you think are left? I recognize many of the names who have been on the boards for months.
Any idea?  :-\

Also how many do you think are ready to bail???  :blinkie:

Truth the only way to for wp to go bye bye is for enough stores to close up shop so that raybil isn't making enough money, and has to go get a job or end up back on ebay selling his sportscards.  Thefinger

Right now he is still making serious moola off the store fees. Gotta get that store count waaay down.  Thumbsup

chiquita,

I know but I think it can be done quickly. All those sellers just need to realize that they can get the same thing and more from a marketplace site like blujay for free. I think I might run a sale on advertising that I sell on a marketplace site if the buyer has closed there wagglepop store within the last 3 months.

Truth, love your name, and love your style. I don't doubt for a minute that the poppers will get fed up paying for nothing. Not to mention this is peak selling season, that alone should cause a mass exodus. Look at the number of people who have registered here in just the last couple of weeks.  Wink

wp boards Wrote:I was a buyer only at first over thEre, then started selling. I didn't have a store, but I sold auction style. I did very well. But the fees of relisting and final value and extra picture, etc didn't help me at all. Things I wanted to keep relisting because I knew they would sell and would maybe need 2 or 3 times became not so profitable and soon I was in the hole because of the fees..

This applies to both eBay and Wagglepop sellers (and no doubt to HiNoBidder, and many other auction sites) because many of them are guilty of the same idiot think that gross not net is what matters:

IF YOU'RE LOSING MONEY YOU'RE NOT DOING "VERY WELL", NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU'RE SELLING...just ask Brandon "Sell2All" who sold $8 million on eBay and spent $9.5 million doing it.

Quote:  from a marketplace site like blujay for free.

The sales at BluJay and almost every other off-eBay auction/classifieds venue are in the same under 1% sell-through range as Wagglepop.  Sellers would be much better off opening their own websites.
"Well, Jay was so giddy that someone named Jay was involved with this site we posted our first non-eBay listing in 3 years here at Lunarbid (we tried two items at Yahoo once upon a time, they bombed)" -Marie posting in a LunarBid thread at OTWA in 2005 wins the award for 'most moronic reason ever given for choosing a venue"

"thanks twat u must have nothing better 2 do. do u talk to all your members like that. will not be recomending your site.
best way to put it is TULIPTOOLS.COM IS REALLY SHIT. DONT JOIN." -pubescent owner of rinky dink off2auction.com in 2011

I need to chime in on something that I feel very strongly about.

Yes, Wagglebutt is a cult and only looks out for Raybil.
Yes, we should alert store owners on the site of the fraud that we see and most of us have experienced.

But...

We are playing with people's lives and their "business",  which for those poopers who don't go on the boards and don't know about the games that are played, it would be devastating, like it was for those of you who were part of WP1 when the site just shut down, if there was another site implosion without warning.

I want to see Raybil go away and not take advantage of anyone ever again.  I don't want to cause problems for the people who are honestly trying to make a go of their stores and turn it into something.  We need to be careful, so we don't hurt the victims in all of this.
Good bye all

bbh, excellent point.

I looked at the boards over on WP and did not notice anyone posting about great sales today or major traffic flow.  It is Black Friday, people are shopping and buying just not on WP  Glasses1

Sweet,
I know there are many sellers over on wp busting their behinds, and working very hard to make their stores a success. I just hate to see them investing their time and money on a site that is not going to give them a return on their investment. Ray fills them with false hope and promises that he cannot deliver. It also makes it much harder to close up shop when you have invested so much of yourself into the building of the store, only to have to dismantle it and be faced with the dilemma of starting over again.

chiquita,
I know, it just kinda made me sad seeing "we must shut them down" and thinking of those who would be hurt by it.  Guess I am in a melancoly mood.  I personally know a store owner there that doesn't read the boards and has "faith".  We don't talk about it anymore because it hurts our friendship.  I was able to save Toadgirl but not my other friend.  :'(

I agree with having your own website however you need to advertise it and that can be costly. Having a free webstore to promote your website is just that free advertising with a bonus. Also there are a billion or so websites on the net right now so selfpromotion through free sites will help you get noticed as well as selling on ebay almost 200 million registered users that is a good source of traffic that you won't get anywhere else even if you have to sell at a loss. If done right you will have multiple sources of income.

Toadgirl is my hero.  Love4
Sweet I want the sellers to close their own doors, and not give ray the satisfaction of taking another 10 bucks out of their wallet. Your other friend is still in that place of needing to believe this time it will work, because it is very scary to face the truth that it isn't going to happen not on wp anyway. WP is not worth losing a friend over anyhow.  Tongue1
