One thing I will say is that Ray (if it really IS Ray ;-)) has excellent timing.

Has anybody heard from Ray?

Is Karen Ray in drag?

So just how the hell did I become the bad guy on the Stores WP thread??
I just posted on that thread, and Mioka showed up today, so there's a very good chance both of us could become bad guys on the Stores board thread too (although I think I'm already regarded as one on that thread)

PS WP's host ezzi.net seems to be having DNS problems: both WP and RScript (also uses ezzi) are unreachable at the moment
I think I am butt hurt that my post got pulled and that one is still going!!  NOT FAIR!!  :'(

Yours was positive.  This one's a big neg, so it's allowed to run full steam.

That thought DID cross my mind, BUT there are quite a few neg posts.  BBH and Beth come to mind.  LOL

edited to add:  Mine was positive???  Someone must have hijacked my account.  Wink  Actually, I only intended mine to be an FYI and to jerk eBay's chain.  eBay got that last jerk of the chain though as my post is gone.  lol

sellers will run over there... get no sales and come
running back to feebay with thier tails between thier legs
and beg to part of Emess.

Worked before.
It's worked many times before and it's kept sellers from exploring sites that could be a viable alternative.

I am rather amused when I see people post things like "finally, there's an alternative to eBay", "the fees are so low" because I think to myself, umm, during the years when Yahoo was charging 5 cent insertion fees (regardless of price) no one on any forum wanted to try them (a fact which I rather enjoyed because it meant I could take over a category on Yahoo and have all its buyers to myself Smile ).

more likely she's someone who's posting om the stores board  :twistedevil:

Quote:I've never seen such a trusting bunch of souls.

Very trusting.  I don't think they fully realize what happens when there is no (or very lax) verification on small auction sites and scammers find out...BidMonkey is one example of what happens and Auction Fire is another: http://auctionfire.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?board=fraud

I'd say it's very possible that the software developers are running the show, having talked Ray into reopening Wagglepop. -- provided Ray stays out of the public eye/media and sticks to his expertise of marketing.  IOW, knowing the time is ripe, they're trying a soft opening/resurrection of WP without Ray's volatile persona to deal with.

What they're finding, however, is almost 100% distrust/disinterest because of the first fiasco...and an almost certainty of becoming just another site for all the chinese knockoffs and russian/nigerian scammers.

*tsk tsk*

Quote:I think that she either is, or works for the Auction Software owner (Rob from RSS I guess)

Nope, RScript is a 2-MAN operation (Rob and Marco).  Interesting tidbit of useless info, one of them (don't remember which) was also one of the first developers of the Ultimate Auction script (the software used by Bid Monkey) before splitting off to form RScript.

I don't think the people at RScript would have any interest in running an auction site like WP because the real money is in selling the software to people (OK, idjits) like Ray and doing custom work...the only people who usually make money with scripts like RScript, phpprobid, etc are the software developers.  ;D

I do think Karen is posting on the stores board though.  Tongue

I think Ray is still in charge.

The one thing I find humorous though is that on 12/10 he renewed the wagglepop.com domain name and changed the whois info to private...11 days later he renewed wagglepopauctions.com and left the whois info public (the wpauctions domain is still at ipowerweb and is redirected to the wp domain at ezzi). Kind of a waste of the extra money. :Smile
