Hey alskling, did anyone ever find the post SB made regarding the shoes you were selling. I found it so if it hasn't been posted already I will be happy to post it here. I figure we need to have a record of the events of WP2 so that when you write your bestselling novel this thread can be your reference guide.  Wink

Maybe your book will be picked for the Oprah book of the month club, and you can invite all of us to the show.  Thumbsup

And what an awesome book it would be!! There is some great information here. Alskling could write a fantastic book. And I have a feeling there will be a lot more information in the coming days, weeks, etc! KaRay will slip up one of these days and say the wrong thing without even noticing it. Since KaRay posted personal account information, and both times saw nothing wrong with it, who knows what KaRay will do next to help open Pop Land Sellers eyes.

:popcorneaters:

I've had my hand slapped twice and been threatened with suspension or termination twice and I don't regret it for a second.  I did nothing wrong and if it helps open just one person's eyes, it was worth the aggravation.

I vaguely remember the post about the shoes. I wouldn't mind reading it again.

The featured store count is down to 20, the bottom 2 stores have a whopping total of 3 items. I also noticed the Bling store, the one with the 30 grand watch is gone now from the featured list.  :blinkie:

and another one gone  :turkey2: and another one gone  :turkey2:
[/quote]

I have been wondering about the store with 1 item for a while.  They have been there for three months as a showcase store, while not listing anything.  Whats the point unless they are hoping buyers contact them so they can steer them to another site. Weird.

Hey race,
TT is loading slow again  Tongue3 Must be another evil spider  :blinkie:

Here are the posts regarding a three way argument in which alskling was defending herself against SB and mtmacc

mtmacc replies to alskling
Quote:Selling all your merchandise at a loss is not a good long term business strategy by any means. You seem to imply that you are filling your store here with the junk that did not sell elsewhere....maybe it is time to rethink your merchandise mix??? OR try setting up categories in your store so it is easier for a potential customer to see what you have to offer without scrolling through 4 pages of listings.

Alskling's response
Quote:WHERE did you ever get the idea that I was not willing to work for it? I have worked harder than you know. And what do you call instant? Hanging around for months waiting for buyers to magically appear? Oh, and blame WP for the problems with categories. I listed all my items under categories. And who are you to call my items junk -- that is very offensive. Since when are $200 silk skirts and $145 designer Italian shoes considered junk? Operating a B&M store has no relevance to operating on-line, so don't even go there. I'm selling at a loss because it's better to sell at a loss than not sell at all, which is what's going to happen to all of us if we don't make our products competitive.

Perhaps WP is not the place for me because I can't feed my family on "vision." Glad to hear you can.

mtmacc reply:
Quote:Perhaps you misunderstood my comment...I was not saying that MY opinion was that your items were junk, not by any means....I used the term because your other posts where you referenced your merchandise, and were calling it clearance, seemed to imply you were listing items that did not sell elsewhere, therefore chose to sell at a very low price (below cost)....sort of like they were not the cream of the crop in your mix.
I would never personally knock anothers items on a public forum, I was simply generalizing as to what you implied about what things you put here. Perhaps leftovers or something like that would have been a better term, I am sorry if that struck a nerve.

Then some different posters go back and forth and then:
alskling posts
Quote:Buy from whomever you please. If you don't want to buy from me out of spite for what I have to say, be my guest. I'm not going after WP sellers to buy my items anyway. That's a very limited market. The real market is the billion or so other folks out in this big world. Those are the buyers we have to attract. There is much room for improvement on this site and I think it important to take care of issues when they're brought up and not wait until it becomes a big, cumbersome problem defying remedy. Just about every issue I've brought up on the boards has been one I've previously put to CC.
I didn't come here to make friends and engage in chit-chat. I have friends. I came here to make sales. It's a business.
(this wasn't the complete post but covers the meat of what alskling was saying)

OK now the infamous SB follows with
Quote:11 AAAA womens shoes...now THAT is a limited market. LOL.

here is a store on wagglepop that just added a few hundred listings.

Odekirk's 99¢ & More Book Store

If you check it out there are 5 or 6 listings of the same item several times.

Didn't ka/ray say somewhere there that you shouldn't have more than 4 listing of the same item in any given catagory.

That's why the listing count keeps going up this store just jumped several spot up the items listed chart over there and now are in the top 25! What a great way to flood the market ka/ray.

RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Speaking of those disparity in the listing numbers seen on the home page and the total count on PSU, I found an old post on PSU which might explain Ray's fuzzy math.

Quote:I didn't want to get into an argument without being able to produce the logic behind my previous statements. I could *see* the disparity, but didn't have time to work out the formula until this evening...

I gathered the stats at WP and crunched some numbers. Because auctions are dynamic, counts are going to be off a digit, but here goes, currently:

All Auctions: 72579
Auctions: 22768
One Bid: 49812
BIN: 17361

Auctions 22768 + One Bid 49812 + BIN 17361 = Manual Addition of Stats 89941

Manual Addition 89941 - WP Server Count 72579 = Difference 17362

See that "difference"? It's the BIN being counted twice. The association/overlap is not between Auctions and One Bid, but rather BIN and One Bid.

Once BIN is deducted from One Bid, and then added back in, you get the total that WP's software reflects.

One Bid 49812 - BIN 17361 = 32451 + Auctions 22768 = 55219 + BIN 17361 = 72580

The true number of One Bid is 32451. BIN is being counted twice. This is proven by deducting it from One Bid, and then adding it back instead of counting it twice. When BIN is added to the "All Auctions" count, the product is the inflated number that Ray promotes. No other formula produces and confirms both the server count and Ray's manual count.

WP's software count for "All Auctions" is accurate. PSU's auction count is accurate. Ray may convincingly call it "Store" inventory, but it's just bad math.

Numbers don't lie.

Bolding is mine.  Toothy9

chiquita,

I always thought that but I think the numbers are fudged even more. Instead of listing a dutch auction or multiple items in at a fixed price you see the same listing listed over and over to fudge and populate the items or rather listings count.

check the store I posted before and go to the last two pages and look at the bags you will see what I mean.

Now add to this formula what I related yesterday. Duplicate posts holding the same auction ID number but counting as 2 separate listings. I found a dozen of them while I was uploading. How many other sellers are carrying the same?? :turkey2:

Edited for stupidity. Time to go to bed. Good night all.
