RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Here is the post that got us kicked off. For us adsmart was the last straw!

Quote:I am confused about a few things and would like them addressed once and for all.

1) Below you will find the site goals for the next three years as stated in wagglepop today however it seems these goals are false or someone did not get to the corporate accountant at wagglepop after the fee increase on the big site and tell him his math is fuzzy. It seems to me that wagglepop has turned a small profit the past few months or they need to restate there goals so we don't think that. I remember back when I registered there were over 900 registered stores in September and over 100,000 listings as well. The store count has decreased but the listings have gone up. It has been stated that if your account was not in good standing you would be terminated. As of today 11/21/06 there is 701 stores ( 35 featured or showcase and 666 basic ) which translates to about $9000.00 in revenue for wagglepop each month. I would say the total site revenue with store fees and all other fees is less than $15000.00 a month although that is my estimate. Please restate the goals to reflect the correct "Break Even" mark or stop lying about a so called loss that wagglepop is having each month. The benchmark should match what you are saying or are we all taken for fools!

Date                Benchmark          Listings (All Formats)          Stores**
As of              11/5/06 Current          158,841                        724
June 2007      "Break Even"                35,000                        700***
June 2008    Intermediate Goal 1%    550,000                      1,250
June 2009      Site Goal 1.5%            825,000                      1,875

2) Adsmart:
      a) are you going to eliminate the featured listing option? It seems senseless to pay $4.95 to be at the top of a catagory when you can spend a dime for a keyword ad and be in a better spot.
      b) isn't this just a simple keyword linked text ad?
      c) also how will wagglepop copyright adsmart when this name is already owned by another website.
      d) wouldn't it be better for wagglepop to purchase "adwords" off another site if you know what I mean to drive traffic to wagglepop?
      e) isn't this just another way to bilk sellers of money for onsite advertising and shouldn't it be included in the smart sell pro package?
      f) don't we have enough onsite advertising? wouldn't some good offsite advertising bring more buyers and sellers here if we are going to pay for it through adsmart?

3) Sales:
Does the sales report include sales that were bogus such as from scammers? If so can we get a more acurate number? For instance I have had 6 sales so far 4 of which were bogus from scammers. Is this accounted for in the sales report?

I have more but that is enough for now. Please clear up these issues in this post. If you disagree with these questions feel free to disagree. Proof is in the print and some would like to know.

We were quit on the boards just laying low for a while to see what would happen there. I didn't even see the news about adsmart for a few days but once I did that was it.

RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Quote:posted here quite a while ago and at that time I said that I was more then happy to buy here if I could find what I wanted.

In the b&m world I tend to buy with the small business owner rather then the large box stores as I believe very strongly in that support.

I have watched WP very carefully since then and although I have yet to find anything of interest to me to buy I have been watching to see how the site itself develops as I would with any new enterprise that interests me.

To say to a buyer "rather than complain about Wagglepop not having xbox games or consoles, look to see what you can do to change that" is just incredulous to me.

I have absolutely no interest in buying anything from an online retailer or drop shipper however the attitude of the whole site should be one of professionalism as it all reflects back at each other, whether you are selling NIB or fine antiques.

As a buyer I am not seeing very much here to draw me back continually hoping to spend some money with the small businessperson. Add to that the uncomfortable feeling of posting and asking reasonable business questions it really makes me wonder if it is worthwhile coming back at all.

If you have items to sell then list them. It is not the buyers job to tell you all that they are interested in nor what price range they are willing to pay. If you have quality and it is fairly priced it will sell and if not then it won't.

Advertising internally is not going to get you anymore sales then what you have if the buyers don’t know how to find you and if they do they don’t find anything to buy.

The tragedy is that the poppers who posted after this post, totally missed the point, and not one addressed the comment that was made to the potential buyer. They were just in awe that another buyer posted, and asked how did you find out about us, blah blah blah.  :blinkie:

Ladyrock, I thought I had saved the last post you made on the AdSmart thread. When I went back to read it, I realized I had saved one of the other posts twice. I wanted to read it again and now I can't since it was deleted  :'(

I haven't been kicked off yet. But one more post that doesn't conform to KaRay's rules and I'll be booted off. The posts that got me in trouble were about KaRay posting personal account information about a seller, then in the threads about 'helping Wagglepop Advertise' and one of the AdSmart threads.

RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
It's amazing that a potential buyer mentioned that he/she was looking for an X BOX 360 and not one was listed. 2 days later, there are 4 of them, all from the same seller.  I also searched for a playstation 3 and there is one listed.

Just think, if that seller that has 4 X Box 360's had them listed already instead of waiting to see if someone asked for one, they could have had a sell. (What a concept)!! It's not like it took days and days to list them....had one posted within a few hours of seeing that someone wanted one. The seller that has them didn't have to list all of them, just one at a time.

The sellers at Pop Land need to take off the rose colored glasses and enter the real world. The motivation for listing shouldn't be to win a contest, it should be to be a successful seller and have your items listed so when a buyer finally comes to the site, they can find what they want. They won't ask if someone has one,  they will search and if what they want isn't there, they will move on to buy somewhere else.

BTW: ANYBODY who wants a 360X Box can get a brand new one with all the bells at CostCo for $449. I think they're even cheaper at BrandSmart. You can buy directly off their web sites. The sellers in New York probably took a little trip down to CostCo and made a deal to buy a few from the store at $20 off or something, which they will do if you buy a lot.

Best Buy had them in their ad for $399. If you get the one without the hard drive, it is $299. Circuit City sells them for the same price, as do most stores.

HEY, GUYS. WalMart has the X Box Core System for under $300. The premium X Box with Burnout Package is $399. WP's seller is offering same item at $395 plus $53 shipping. The X Box with Messenger bag is $479 and 97 cent shipping at WalMart. The WP seller is offering the same unit for $470 plus $53 shipping. Somebody needs to go over there and tell those buyers they're not saving a dime. I'll bet you can do better on eBay. Do you suppose these "sellers" just picked up a few things at WalMart and are listing some them so they can possibly make a SELL and brag about it on the boards?

Hey guys,

Just wanted to take the time to clear up where that seller is getting the xbox from.

That is a dropship item, dropship copy and paste description and a dropship picture.

I have dealt with that dropshipper in the past and they are pretty good with there products but he is way over priced on the shipping. Lets just say double the cost.

I also had some xbox items listed on WP for a while and no hits at all. I could not believe that there wasn't any buyers for that item before sirbuysalot. Wish he showed up a few weeks ago.

Alskling,

Sorry we were typing at the same time. check out netdropshipper.com it isn't the same company that I was talking about but you will get the idea for free instead of signing up for a dropship program. Also keep in mind the company I was talking about is cheaper than what you will see there same products and more.

I was under the impression that dropshipping wasn't allowed on WP. Are you saying this seller is breaking the rules?
