RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Quote:Some sellers are more comfortable in a high-traffic eBay environment and need immediate returns, while others cannot operate in a trust-based environment. The effect that both groups have on the overall count was never something we would mark a part of the long-term trend.

Regarding the first group above, we will work hard to earn their business in the future and know we can with increased market share, while the second group has no place on Wagglepop at any point in time.

It looks like this has been edited by Karen after a popper complained.  The changed portion now reads:

Quote:Regarding the first group above, we will work hard to earn their business in the future and know we can with increased market share, while the second group (non-delivery of sold items and/or non-payment of monthly seller invoices) has no place on Wagglepop at any point in time.

It was changed due to this post.

Quote:Karen - Well, if I'm reading this right......I guess I'm included in that "second group". Although I'm not a non payer, I am I guess it's safe to say a non-performer???? Let me tell you please.......when I first found and joined WP, I was so excited to be able to come to another place. I was very green regarding stores, html, and the like. I quickly met some very fine people who jumped in to help and help me they did ....tremendously. You also helped me tremendously regarding that phantom buyer ( and I thank you again). Now without going into too much history, suffice to say.....I am a struggling single mom with an EXTREMELY hard life. No pity parties here, it's a fact. I do not have much family support, really not any and have a special needs child (2, but one more severe than the other) who demands my ALL. Since joining WP, my housework and just normal daily routine things have gone by the wayside. My house is in a shambles and many nights I am up till wee hours because that's the time when he's in bed that I can do ANYTHING. I have spent hours and hours and hours listing, emailing 300 plus letters out to former customers, tweaking my store, and clicking on numerous sites for marketing my store. The sales that I did have here have come from other sellers. I don't care that that's how they came about......to me they were sales and friendships made and I will cherish that forever.

Now, maybe your wording wasn't meant to offend and maybe I'm just overwhelmed, but to me (my opinion) when you say "while the second group (non-payment/NON-PERFORMANCE) has no place on Wagglepop at any point in time" sounds like I've been a burden and not welcome because I don't perform. I don't know what else to do short of standing on my head - now that would be a sight!

OK, go ahead......I know I'll hear about this from someone....just don't be so quick to judge people unless you've walked in their shoes. I have thick skin......I've had to, to be able to get through what I've had to endure and what more will be coming to me. Thanx for your time. Nancy

Quote:Wow, from Almost 1000 stores, to 680 in a span of a short period of time.

Is it a downward trend?

I remember when they were jumping up up and up.. now its the opposite.

Hope it goes back up.. we need sellers here!

Hello popper - ain't gonna happen.  Read2

Quote:The good news is the listing count keeps going up!!

Sorry, popper, listing were over 160,000 this morning.  Under now.  Nono

Quote:One store owner from here who only gave this site 1 month to go back to ebay has posted that she isn't getting much action there and has already ditched her 2nd St. Elsewhere, and is having major problems getting her own website started. I think those of us who made a decision to open up here (and maybe somewhere else also, and maybe their own website also...) and budgeted themselves to stick it out and build up a presence will be rewarded eventually.

Here ya go popper -  Smileydrinksomemore

It's been six months with no advertising, no market recognition and no sales.  When exactly do you think "eventually" will come?

Alskling,

Quote:Store "counts" can be quite the illusion when it comes to trends and projections.

The ups and downs are all a part of the process.

What we are trying to do is build a seller base for the long-term with the traits and characteristics that buyers value most.

Some sellers are more comfortable in a high-traffic eBay environment and need immediate returns, while others cannot operate in a trust-based environment. The effect that both groups have on the overall count was never something we would mark a part of the long-term trend.

Regarding the first group above, we will work hard to earn their business in the future and know we can with increased market share, while the second group has no place on Wagglepop at any point in time.

We are only concerned about and interested in sellers that buyers can count on and that we as a company can count on, both today and in the future as we grow together

sojo2,

Excellent analysis of current market conditions and dynamics Smile

Wagglepop is absolutely in it's infancy, and our plans and expectations for growth aim to capitalize on both our interpretation of overall online trends and the opportunity that the Web presents.

We feel very strongly as a company that there are many untapped opportunities for growth in ecommerce in general and we intend to capitalize on many of them.

The plan we have for WP isn't so much about 800 stores vs. 600 stores vs. 1000 stores, it's about creating a marketplace that is so compelling, so innovative, and so timely that participation as a buyer or seller becomes too attractive an option to pass up.

It's about shifting cultures and creating a dynamic that's all our own.

Wagglepop is going to be changing in some very remarkable ways, both in functionality/features and in the way we market ourselves to the general public to build our brand.

eBay and eBay-type sites have their place, but we intend to evolve rather quickly into something much more than that kind of typical and predictable ecommerce site Smile

Karen - WP Customer Care

I'm sorry, but wasn't it said that 700 stores was the "goal"?  Now, store numbers don't matter?  I like typical and predictable ecommerce sites.

This is bullshit.

Oh yes and I have noticed that typing style.  My brother does it, too.  I have a tendency to use more breaks than not.

Mostly because I hate it when people type in one big long paragraph.

I know for me, I cannot read one big huge paragraph.  I literally have to put my fingers on the screen or I get lost.  I hate long sentences, too, but I've noticed I'm becoming guilty of that.

Oddly enough, my brother, myself, and Ray have all been named "geniuses" at one time or another.

hmmm

Ok, that's it. Now she has seriously OD'd on the  Smileykoolaid

Compelling and innovative? I'm sorry but wtf is compelling and innovative about an eBay clone that continues infringe on others and has shown up until this point NOTHING but a boxed software? What the frig are they waiting for if they have something SO creative? If I had some blockbuster idea you bet your ass I'd be implementing it. Not throwing up a wannabe site while 'tantalizing' my customers with what will be. I can't believe the long haul people aren't getting a clue at this point.

Just another ruse to keep this bunch of sellers until the new Ebay refugees start coming in January.

This lady's story is the reason that all of us are fighting so hard to uncover the lies and distortions of WP. The individual situations of the members on WP vary, from people who sell as a hobby to people who totally rely on the income. This poor woman is not only raising children as a single mom, they are special needs children. She needs to be home with them, she is relying on WP, and we all know it will not provide her with enough income to survive. Then the asshole raybil insults his members, calling them losers basically if they aren't successful.

There are not words to describe how angry I am. Ray you are a disgusting pig, and the day will come when you will reap what you have sown.  Angryfire Angryfire

Quote:There you go again, Karen....

Getting me all excited about seeing what you have in store for us Wagglepoppers who are sticking it out for the long haul. I am very interested to see what our "asked for" opinions bring toward Wagglepop improvements.

I have been looking at the drop in stores/listings as a growth spurt for Wagglepop. Because we are growing much stronger by keeping OUR Wagglepop community of stores trust-worthy and full of great customer service... which is something 99% of buyers are looking for besides their products.
  :lies2n:

WTF?  store drop = growth spurt  Must be wagglethink.  Buyers have come and looked for products that YOU DON'T HAVE and have left.  Others have been shoved out the door for asking questions.
