"public offerings?" Who are they kidding? That would be like investing in banana futures in Antarctica.

Quote:If anybody wants anything from my store , please buy it before the 10th. I will be shut down my store on the 11th. Thanks for all they sellers support and good luck to all. I have lost my store link sorry all...

And a know-it-all response:

Quote:well, poo... I love liquidation sales, but with no link??? That's just being a tease!

I know it can be discouraging... somehow folks think that just anybody with no particular experience in sales, marketing, business, economics, and retailing can just jump on board the internet and make an overnight (read, less than 1-2 years) success. T'aint so.

But I've seen folks with little to no experience make a killing on the internet 'cause they took the time to study and research how to build a business (and yes, sometimes simultaneously with opening and running several internet websites and making lots of mistakes along the way -- it is good to be young with lots of energy).

So this post is not to put down newbies with no experience. Its just that.... jeez, folks. You can't open a store and make money right off the bat anywhere. Most times, even if you THINK you are making money, you probably haven't taken the time to set up a good Excell spread sheet and anaylyzed all the hidden costs.

I used to worry that my 25 years experience and education on selling and marketing was gone thanks to the new internet age. Come to find, all that experience is entirely transferrable. Same story, different setting.

So come on, xxxx, chin up! If you need to close down here, fine, but be smart -- give us a link, give us a fire sale, recoup some of your investment. Look at other ways to make good out of stock you invested in (local trades, other ways to sell, good charities). Why not take whatever profits you get from liquidating and put it into an account for future biz set-up, or vacation, or whatever.

Successful business people are notorious opportunists. Sorry you have to fold it here -- it happens -- been there myself more than I can count -- but for goodness sake, get whatever you can out of a sorry affair.

A few assumptions made here. And a pathetic ending "get whatever you can out of a sorry affair??? What an insult! Violent1

Sounds to me like this popper wants to buy that poor sellers items for pennies. Just wait till their time comes to close down.
Know it all people crack me up. If you are still selling on WP and believe you can make a killing than you will be waiting an eternity and not the 1-2 years you state.  :Smile

Quote:Thank you everyone that has been such a huge help here. There are so many great people in WP, but I have to close. I understand it takes time to build a business, but sales here are close to nothing, and I have to pay the bills. I must say I have had items listed here now over 4 months with no sales,
I moved them to E and they sell right away. go figure. Maybe WP just needs more time to bring in buyers. I can no longer be selling over there to pay for my place here.
Best of luck to all and have a Merry Christmas.

And another one gone....
