chiquita,
Dedicated to Truth, and all seekers of the Truth: The following are excerpts from Fast Company who asked 11 plainspoken business leaders to provide advice and techniques to help people tell - and hear - the truth. Quote:Of course, words count too. My first rule of communication - whether it's an email, a memo, or a half-day briefing - is "Tell me in the first sentence what you would have told me in the last sentence." So much of corporate life is about spinning the facts. I don't want to be spun. That simple rule helps stop the spin. Quote:The further up I was promoted, the less my former colleagues trusted me. I was now one of "them," and "they" never tell the truth. And in fact, my fellow "thems" expected me to become less candid and more polished - to be realistic about "the compromises we make at this level." What most disappointed me, though, was that I stopped hearing the truth. People who had once told me everything assumed that I couldn't be trusted anymore. Quote:But the more you avoid the truth, the steeper the price that you are likely to pay in terms of wasted effort, frustration, and even cynicism. It's a vicious cycle. Here are a few ways to break it. Quote:We are building a company in which everyone tells the truth every day - not because everyone is honest but because everyone has access to the same information: operating metrics, financial data, valuation estimates. The more people understand what's really going in their company, the more eager they are to help solve its problems. Information isn't power. It's a burden. Share information, and you share the burdens of leadership as well. Quote:Tell the truth. All the time. About everything. What's the alternative to radical honesty? Waste. Wasted time, wasted money, wasted possibilities - a wasted life. Quote:Now, there are a few areas where absolute truth is mandatory: When it comes to customer service, never tell me even a little white lie. But in general, I care more about the big picture: Are we being honest with ourselves about the condition and course of the company? I don't want private, closed-door meetings. That's why our headquarters is one big open space. We don't have secretaries - and my own office doesn't even have enough room for somebody else to sit in it! If we're honest about the big things, the little things will take care of themselves, even if that means telling an occasional white lie.
THANK YOU!!!!!!! let the truth be told u1it4less - "it's all in the name.." I've got to go to bed shortly but I just couldn't do so without bringing to the attention of you lot the pseudo new store that seems to have sprung up overnight - bulging with new listings.
Check out MAINLY HOCKEY CARDS. Shows registered on July 22nd with the ID of drw4ever (deep river what's his name???). But has never shown active in store listings until now. Store now suddenly loaded with 1,997 sports cards. No Me page, no photos, minimal description, listings uploaded at the rate of 25 per minute. And I don't buy a bulk lister as an excuse for accomplishing this. Ray, tricks are for kids. I ain't no kid... mileyazwipe:

Time for another twisted Christmas tune. ** disclaimer, this is a parody written and dedicated to all the TT posters who basically just need to spew a little soda, or wee wee just a little bit*** Karen got deleted by a virus. Surfing while at Rays house Christmas eve. You can say there's no such thing as karma, but as for me and grandpa we believe. She'd been drinking too much eggnog, and Ray begged her not to go. But she forgot her medication, and she staggered through the screen into the glow. When he found her Christmas morning, at the scene of the attack, she had edit written on her forehead, and incriminating delete marks on her back. Karen got deleted by a virus. Surfing while at Rays house Christmas eve. You can say there's no such thing as karma, but as for me and grandpa we believe. Now we're all so proud of Raymond, He's been taking this so well. Seen him in there watching football, drinking beer and playing cards with Andrew. It's not Christmas without Karen, All the family's dressed in black and we just can't help but wonder: Should we open up her email, or send them back? Send them back!! Karen got deleted by a virus. Surfing while at Rays house Christmas eve. You can say there's no such thing as karma, but as for me and grandpa we believe. Now the money is on the table and the loose change in a tin and the blue and silver candles that would just have matched the hair on Karens wig. I've warned all my friends and neighbors better watch out for yourselves, they should never give a license to a guy whose name is Ray and plays with his other selves.
Chiquita you're brilliant. I think you may have a new career waiting in the wings for you. I have tears streaming down my face (and Diet Coke streaming down my monitor LMAO)

Sweet and I have but a small dream, to bring smiles, tears, spews, and minor bladder accidents to our beloved TT community.
We also aspire to give new meaning to songs old and new. |

Oh, the sales on Wagglepop are frightful, But customer care is so delightful, And since I can't close down 'til I pay, Guess I'll stay, Guess I'll stay, Guess I'll stay. There isn't any signs of shopping, Need koolaid and spam for popping; Got Lots of time to play Guess I'll stay, Guess I'll stay, Guess I'll stay When I finally get a sale, How will I find out if they pay? Karen says I'll get an email Never happens to my dismay The stores are slowly dying, And, my dear, we're still good-bye-ing, But as long as you don't go astray. You can stay, you can stay, you can stay!! :hoxmasn9: :hoxmasn9: :chicken3: :chicken3: :hoxmasn9: :hoxmasn9: :hoxmasn29: :hoxmasn27: :hoxmasn30:

Glad everyone liked that little ditty. I posted that thread on PSU because I was thinking about moving my E store over to WP. But I couldn't post that question on WP because of all the censorship. hmmmm
