I wish Amazon would do SOMETHING to let people know auctions exist. Marketplace is great... but auctions are invisible.
Amen. I've sold maybe a handful of things on AZ Auctions ... and one of those was to an AZ employee! |

WP motto: "Sales? We don't need no stinkin' sales."
They're getting some according to some of the posts in the wp boards. I bought three things the other day from three different wp sellers just yesterday, and I have to say that I am getting more and more impressed. I'm making the assumption that the structure itself can be upgraded when needed -- so the part that impressed me is that wp is actually "bringing back the magic." It's cheap to list ($9.95 monthly), so sellers can charge properly for shipping, and it's set up much better for sellers of low priced items -- the very sellers that are being kicked out of ebay. They have less automation, which forces the buyer and seller to talk to each other, and while you're doing that, you can ask the seller things like "do you have any more stlyes like these," etc. Technically speaking I guess if you did an additional transaction that wp would loose that FVF, but since Ray is going to do quite well with the fact that he has set up a pretty solid stream of monthly re-occurring income, then he's probably not going to worry about that much, and if so, then sellers will feel much more in control. There's no way to really "cheat the system," so the sellers pay their monthly fee, and then simply do business as adults. |

Ray is holding back on some RScript features. I guarantee you in the coming months he'll turn them on and claim his programmers developed them. ;D Coming soon to Wagglepop: uploads to Froogle and BidFind, eBay feedback import, wanted ads, bulk lister, home page featured and spotlight auctions, barter/trade, hot auctions, $1 auctions

He already tested the ebay feedback import on his and his brothers accounts. ![]() http://www.wagglepop.com/bin/auction/vie...w_feedback&userID=1 http://www.wagglepop.com/bin/auction/vie...w_feedback&userID=6
Sneaky the Sharkette is 2 for 2. She guessed correctly on Froogle, and she is right on the money on the bulk lister: ![]() "InventoryDirect with E-Import" Bulklister Now Scheduled for Integration 7/22/06 We are pleased to announce that the next phase of our ongoing plan to build Wagglepop into a true online auction alternative is now tentatively scheduled for integration in the next 45 to 60 days. In addition to featuring a basic spreadsheet interface for rapid creation of bulk listing files, the InventoryDirect with E-Import bulklisting tool comes with the ability to import all of your existing inventory from eBay, using the .csv file exchange format and our bulk conversion component. This powerful tool will not only create files for bulk upload of inventory, it will also import existing files in .csv file exchange format, convert them to the proper spreadsheet format for final configuration, and prepare them for bulk upload including automatically disabling any existing site-specific links not allowed as per the Listing Policy. It's a highly sophisticated and powerful tool, and one that will allow even the largest of inventories to be likely be transferred in less than a day or so, or create bulk files from scratch ready for upload. There will be no charge to use InventoryDirect with E-Import, as it will be integrated as part of the SmartSell Pro Package. Once the precise date of the integration is determined, we will issue an announcement with detailed information beforehand about how to use the new tool and overall requirements. We certainly hope every seller uses InventoryDirect with E-Import to help establish themselves within Wagglepop, and across the entire Web. |

RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
The current income level for wp based on the number of stores (281) is approaching an income of 3K per month already and is growing by the day. I guess I'm sounding like a popper, but I'm impressed. I understand what everyone has been saying about the platform the site is built on, but I really think that some investment money is highly possible in the near future that could fix that up if needed.
The next step is for buyers to begin coming to the site, but logic dictates that that won't happen until there are enough things to buy, and the bulk lister will definately be a way to get that going. If I wasn't trying to stay focused on my latest venture, I'd probably open and stock a store also. So I never thought I'd be heard saying this, but go Ray! Whoo Hoo! |
