Uh oh, it looks like a cheerleader thread was started by our friend Powerseller for upgrading to Showcase. It may be a nice Christmas for Ray after all.

Quote:Hi Everyone! I just noticed that there appears to be another newly upgraded Showcase Store among us, ******** That adorable logo with the kitties looks great on the WP Stores home page, and what a nice selection of items too (nearly 2300, WOW). I very recently upgraded my little 400 item store to Showcase as well and saw my traffic double from normal on the first day (and site meter shows that nearly half of those hits came directly from the WP Stores home page which makes perfect sense). I know that I will find it to be well worth the extra $1./day that it works out to for the Showcase upgrade even though I still consider my store to be in the 'building phase'.

So, I wanted to open up this thread for a little Showcase discussion.

Who has tried or has considered trying the Showcase route?

What kind of inventory selection or # of items listed might make the Showcase upgrade 'worth' or 'not worth' the extra cost?

I see Powerseller mentioned that the traffic to her store has doubled, but there is no mention of any sales from the increased traffic. I wonder how long she will toot her own horn for upgrading her store if no sales comes from the upgrade.

WAGGLEFACT OF THE DAY

A CHANGE TO THE DISPLAY OF FEEDBACK

As I was investigating WP stores today to learn more of the average # of stores operated by some sellers I noticed a few things.

First thing I noticed was that the store logo was removed from feedback that is displayed. You used to be able to look at the feedback if you were new to WP and see that it looked like a bunch of people buying from each other to raise there feedback score since every feedback is counted unlike most other sites. But why did Ray do this? Well if you saw a bunch of store’s buying from each other what would you think? The feedback still says who was the buyer and who was the seller but this is an attempt to make you think there are more buyers coming to the site. It still does not change the fact that the feedback system is being used to create false hope for new potential sellers or buyers. By the way the system is often wrong as to who is the seller and if you click the item #’s you will see what I mean. That was a pretty shroud attempt to hide the truth Ray.

The second thing I noticed was that you can own multiple stores. The feedback will be different for the different user ID’s but I have seen stores that have bought from another store that they own. No names mentioned and anyone can see it if they look hard enough.

One last thing I noticed is that there is a new store that has made an appearance in the top 25. This one would seem to be a Ray owned store. Nothing new here but keeping the listing count up.

Yet another great wagglefact, truth  Thumbsup

I went into a "showcase" store.  I looked at the feedback.  I recognized every name except one on the feedback.

Sorry, powerseller, 45 sales in six months just don't pay the bills.
