Quote:Edited to add: Does anyone with a knowledge of RScript know how these numbers get pulled - do the stats show multiple vs. unique or are these manual calculations?

The demo shows number of bids, but the only way I could find to get number of sales is to review the weekly transaction history (which includes all listings, FVFs, etc.) and count the number of FVF entries (and then try to determine if the FVF was part of a multi item sale).  Going through 150,000+ weekly transactions would take a while.  They could be using phpmyadmin to download the transaction table and then using a spreadsheet to pull the numbers. Either way it seems a little time consuming.

Bolding mine... or they could just be pulling numbers out of their  Bootyshake. Sounds much more plausible to me.

From what you've explained, it certainly leaves lots of room for the numbers to be played with and no one would be the wiser.

Its possible they had that many sales due to Christmas shopping. Its still only about a 1.3% sell through which is nothing to get excited over.

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
WAGGLEFACT OF THE DAY

Why the sales report is bogus.

Quotes below are from the WP sales report:
Quote:The number of sales will be reported in one of two ways:
• Number of sales from multiple item listings
• Number of sales from unique single item listings
• Total sales, combined (all listings)
We make this distinction in order to better represent overall activity in the most accurate method possible.
The term "sales" applies to Buy It Now purchases, OneBid Instant Purchases, and winning bidder Online Auctions that meet the reserve, if any.

Quote:Period Multiple Item Sales     Unique Sales     Total Sales
12/11 to 12/17   576                     1507           2083

Look at these 2 item numbers:
303546 & 231088
$.01 for 10% off the next item and both are counted as a sale? If that isn’t feedback solicitation then what is?
Because both these item #’s will be blacked out due to the fact that ka/ray lurks on the TT thread the first item # represents a 10% discount for a purchase price of $.01 with free shipping. The second item # represents a boys shirt for $5.99 both items by the same seller and sold to the same buyer who we all know quite well here. I am not saying that this isn’t smart buying however this is a clear violation of feedback policy and is an easy way to fudge the sales report for ka/ray.
Just goes to prove that there really isn’t any growth in waggleland. I wonder how many of the so called sales were for $.01 as a matter of fact I see quite a few of them. Nice try Ray. The truth will always come out.
