Unhappy Popper:
Quote:Not one holoday sale :-(

Grant it, 95% of my items I have listed are used items, but there had to be someone out there while browsing find something interesting.

Also the past 3 days, no lookers at all. Not one visiter nothing.
Maybe I am not cut out to be an online seller. Atleast I made $100 on ebay the past week .
I like were wagglepop is going, but I am feeling very low right now.

Thanks for your ears / eyes.

Cheer up, Popper. The big post-holiday rush is right around the corner, when thousands of shoppers turn on their Blackberries while shushing down the black diamond slopes at Aspen and order a few dozen baseball cards and some hot country tunes. Just hang in there, baby.

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
My apologies to Simon and Garfunkel Smile

Sounds of softly muted pink slippers

Hello disgruntled Ebayers, my old friends
I've to come to con you once again
Because my vision of profiting
Once gave me money for shopping
And the money that was received has been drained
Hardly any remains
To buy more pink slippers

In restless forums I delete alone
Where policies are set in stone
"Neath the halo of a halogen lamp
I tightened my robe against the cold and damp
When my eyes caught the flashing light
A pay per click scheme banner ad that caught my sight
That hinted of profit for more pink slippers

And in the glowing light I saw
Ten thousand dollars, maybe more
People listing without thinking
People paying without selling
People wanting to ask why they can't sell their wares
And yet no one dared
To question my quest for more pink slippers

Fools, I declared after seeing Tulips postings grow
Discontent like a cancer grows
Read my posts so that I can guide you
Have faith in the dynamic marketplace I offer you
But as the WP forum cheering grew
My mind drifted
To all the pink slippers I will be able to buy new

And the poppers cheered and prayed
In the forums I had made
And Karen posted her warnings
To all those who's discontent was growing
And the post read that the legal consequences may be severe
to those that interfere with my plans to get more pink slippers.

You know there's trouble when...

The same popper starts a thread about about an alternative selling site, vstores; and another chimes in, asking about etsy.

Wonder how long that one will last ?  (Titled: "has anyone heard of..." on the Advanced Selling board)

Quote:Hmmm, I wonder if Ray saw my earlier post about WP not being in the top 100,000 sites over the last few days.

Quote:Hello Members,

After the afternoon session today, we thought it might be interesting to share with membership some of the trend analysis from the session to give everyone a little insight into how we are progressing in general.

I. General Site Traffic

Current Alexa Traffic Rank: 38,552

Our current rank is remarkably high after just seven months in operation

WP's fall from the top 100K during the past few days is due to Christmas: our daily yesterday fell to 90K, PSU fell to 33K -and eBay listings are also down.

WP's 3 month Alexa rank of 38,552 would be impressive if it was a FORUM (PSU is 19K and TT is 49K) but it's not impressive for an eBay alternative selling venue.  iOffer is 2,700, eBid 11,600, Etsy is 3,200, LiveDeal 7,200, and then there are Amazon 20 and Craigslist 33.

Over the past week, WP's 1-week Alexa traffic rank (51,460) trails both PSU (21,259) and TT (36,313).
[/quote]

The latest WP Alexa traffic rankings:
1-day:  not in the top 100,000 (again)
1-week: 62,296

Alexa reach: yesterday: 4, 1-week: 11.5 (the 3-month average was 20)

Karen/Ray picked the wrong day/week to talk about Alexa trends.  Laughing7

Quote:Hello Members,

In support of the aforementioned appearance changes and upgrades, today marks the introduction of a new more uniform icon set for OneBid Instant Purchase listings and Online Auctions that use the Buy It Now option.

We feel the icons better represent the listings dynamics as presented, are clear and easy to use and understand, and help to create a browsing/buying environment that is recognizable as all our own Smile

a reply:
I like the new icons "Buy Now" instead of the same colors as E's Buy It Now, it gives a sense of being different and actually more pleasant with the new color.

I guess Ray is trying to avoid the wrath of Ebay for duplication of the Buy It Now feature which included using the exact same colors as Ebay.

Sorry duplicate post so I omitted this one. I'm not operating at 100% efficiency. Trying to put up our tree and attempting to control the furballs in our house that think Tarzan had the right idea...making dinner...the list goes on. I hope you all forgive me.

PS:  A few beers assisted me in making this post and the one following.  Occasion14 Occasion14
