I never said I thought Ray is the auction Messiah, the administrators here do not need to execute members, they got jerks like you to do it for them.  I really am leaving now Cya

princessmirandajo, Thank you.  I do have my listings backed upSmile  I am sorry that you had to leave and sorry they treated you that way.  I can understand why you are upset.  I just came here to explain why I choose to stay.  I do not like how some mock the sellers there.
Quote: You think I really want to take the advise of a group of people who waste so much time ripping on one little auction site and the owner of it.

it's not because we think Ray is the auction Messiah ready to lead us down the yellow brick road to e-commerce nirvana.

Truly, what were you expecting? Ooops, a question. Never mind.

Edit: Oh, BTW, you're welcome to stay, or go. Your choice. Unlike WP, the administrators here don't execute members simply because they ask questions or have a different viewpoint.

Askling didn't insult you or call you names once during this happy little conversation you two shared... but I guess you felt the need to sling names... shame on you... don't preach to us... then call names!!!  On this board we're allowed to agree to disagree but you obviously can't live by that rule.  If we don't agree with you, we're automatically wrong.

I find it really interesting that the only people resorting to 'name-calling' other sellers are the WP cheerleaders. Not once have they been insulted or called names and yet these are the same ones who will post on the WP boards complaining about ugly worms and infiltrators. Unbelievable!

Alskling is one of the most insightful, to the point posters here. Whenever she posts it is well-thought out and backed up by some kind of documentation. Believe it or not, she is simply trying to help you. If you don't want to hear it that's fine. Just don't you dare step outta line over at good ole Waggleflop. If you do, you'll be over here soon enough.

Quote:So now when I see all these nasty remarks about WP it ticks me off because this is where I work.

Bad way of thinking.  That way of thinking will keep you chained to eBay or WP or Venue XYZ forever and will prevent your business from achieving its full potential.

Stop thinking of eBay or WP as 'where you work'.  Start thinking of your company as 'where you work' .

Stop thinking of yourself as an eBay or WP seller.  Start thinking of yourself as an online seller.

Stop cheerleading for the venues you sell at.  Start cheerleading for your own company.
This statement by BBH goes directly to the heart of the matter. As long as you sell your items and conduct business on an online venue you will be subject to not only their rules, but all changes to the venue.

Place your skills, experience, drive, and passion into your own business. Most people sell online in order to have independence from working for others. Ebay, WP and others are a middleman. Be enthused, be energetic, just direct that inwards towards yourself.
Invest in you, and great things can happen.

I think that being able to stay home with your children is a blessing. If you can find a way financially to do that, you won't regret it. There are many single mom's who don't have that luxury. Look at it this way toy, you have built in consumer testers for the toys.  Mrgreen

Well, all I can say is that Ray has apparently found himself a kindred spirit in Toys. Looks like she's well on her way to becoming a WP mentor and part of the propagandizing elite.

BBH -- I couldn't agree more, which is why if I had my drothers, eBay and Designers Bargains would not be in the same sentence. And also why I am here. Through this thread and others TT-ers have directly me, I have discovered a wealth of information and sound advice based on their knowledge and experience. I'm still trying to digest it all and when the fog clears perhaps a plan will emerge on how to get my own site together. I'm still bewildered by the options and trying to decide what would or would not be the best for me, but at least I have a better focus and a clearer understanding of what I can do. I wish I'd known about TT before I'd wasted so much time, energy and money feeding a dead horse -- another reason why I'm here -- to warn others -- but you live and learn.

Thanks to all administrators for providing us with a forum that still cherishes free speech, independent thought, and dissent and where challenges are welcomed and real issues can be discussed without fear of censorship or reprisal.

This is a major reason many sellers left wp.  There is a small group of people that are ready to jump on any post they don't like at wp.  I have never seen another venue since ebay that has such an unfriendly forum of people with constant battles over what starts as just a question and develops into a battle until it the thread is deleted.  I guess this small group seems to think they run the site as well as the owner of Wp and have helped in the loss of sellers. I really dislike that also.  If the seller has a legitimate question about sales, they always twist it around to make it seem like the inquisitive seller is doing something wrong instead of addressing the question.
