With all my registrations, it's my cell phone number and a *box* business address. NO ONE knows my home address....

Well the thread on the SRG group is 100% positive about WP's re-opening.

Well the thread on the SRG group is 100% positive about WP's re-opening. [/quote] Kinda incredulous, but at the same time believable. From what I've been reading, those folks over there, and sellers all over the bay, are not happy campers. Some are just more mild and polite than others when voicing criticism. I'm sure everyone is holding their breath and blinking their eyes and are in a state of *shock* in some form or another. I sure won't be among the first to list. I'll register, but that's all right now. I would LOVE to see it succeed (altho it will be constantly sabotaged to keep it from becoming a viable alternative) but I have lost all trust in its 'leader' and his ability to make intelligent decisions. Edit: It's open season for scammers with WP (just like last time), so the site will be loaded with all that stuff if it proves to be anywhere near stable. Horrible.... |

"Store Inventory items run for 30 days at the lower Stores insertion rates, and have limited general search exposure."
Just like ebay. No exposure for stores. What's he thinking? Why bother? |

Quote:Regarding user information, in one email, Romeo answered, "The site software, data, and information have been wiped clean from the servers, and the servers themselves will be dismantled in the next few days." When asked what specific measures were taken to delete the information so they would be unrecoverable, he said, "The drives were reformatted, then wiped. Then rewritten, and wiped again..." reformatted? Then he must have an awesome memory to remember everyone's email addresses to be able email everyone. I believe that as much as I believed him when he claimed one of the reasons he closed the site last year was because of death threats on his family. Speaking of information no credit card is need to register, didn't he require one last year and am I thinking of another fly-by site? |

How can store listings have a more limited general search exposure when you only have a couple of dozen listings?
(I'm admit I haven't checked since this afternoon. Maybe he has 1000s now.) |

RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Wow, cheap it ain't for a new site with very few members. There are fees for everything. There are insertion fees, buy it now fees, final value fees, Store Inventory Insertion fees, monthly store fees and features fees.
I don't have a problem paying fees on an established site that has the buyers but it just opened today. Build the site, let it get established and then bring in the fees. Oh yes, I forgot, he probably won't be around long enough for it to get established. But then I guess he is charging all those fees so that the money he makes from that will pay for the monthly fee he is paying eBay to keep his eBay store open? I notice he hasn't closed it yet (no listings but it's still open with a monthly fee attached to it): http://stores.ebay.ca/The-Vintage-Paper-...eZL2QQtZkm Clicking the browse link on his site I especially like what it says, "Browsing over 15,000 categories is "easy to find exactly what you are looking"? So in the Browse link it shows there are 14 listings in the jewelry & watches category, I click that link and a page of many, many, many, many categories come up but no indication as to which category or categories has jewelry listing in it. As if I am going to click each one and that is "easy"? |
