Quote:I've taken a peak at Tazbat, too, and like the look. My biggest concern is that it's basically a UK site. Anybody care to comment?

It is basically a UK site at this point.  eBid has the same problem for US sellers: the majority of buyers are in the UK.  Tazbar only has a fraction of the number of listings that eBid has...and a fraction of eBid's traffic.  TulipTools is even beating Tazbar in traffic...so the question is whether it is worth your time to list on a site that has less traffic than Wagglepop and is primarily a UK site: the answer: probably not worth it at this point for US sellers no matter how nice it looks.

Quote:I'm scurred to start my own website, even tho I'm desperate to.  Should I just go ahead with an easy cart solution to start with?

You could always try something like ShopPal/PrestoStores to get your feet wet.  If you can setup an eBay/WP store you can setup one of their stores.

Quote:Hello Members,

As noted, the Sales Reports are changing to a monthly schedule beginning with the month of January 2007, and issued on February 1st, 2007.

The Sales Reports will likely change again to quarterly in early to mid 2008 as part of a larger related announcement.

Weekly reporting has ended for the 2006 calendar year, but I will certainly check if reporting information was tabulated any remaining weekly periods, and if available, will post either an update or addendum with that information Smile

Quarterly sales reports...larger related announcement.

Translation: Ray hopes to take Wagglepop public (i.e. issue stock) in early to mid 2008. :Smile

Maybe he will offer 10 shares for every sports card you purchase from one of his fudge stores or 1 share per every feedback solicitation.

Translation:
Because Ka/Ray put his foot in his mouth about the Alexa numbers the past 2 weeks he needs time to recover from his mistake. He could probably count on one hand the amount of sales he had this past week and the Alexa numbers prove it. If people on TT didn’t go to the site to do research about his scam the numbers would have been worse. I asked the question a little bit ago about the sales report for the last 2 weeks of this year right here on TT. It's nice to see Ray respond to questions from the TT forum right in the WP forums thanks Ray.

Since you just proved you lurk here again Ray answer this.

How can you continue to provide false hope to your seller base? You have given your sellers false hope about a post holiday rush. How can you continue to mislead your sellers with false hope?

To all WP sellers:

Leave now or before the next seller fees are due. WP won't make it to the next sales report. Larger stores are starting to close. The listing count has been on the decline since 11/5/06 leave and list for yourself on a free site or start your own website. We will help you if you need advice or direction. Stop paying a site that has NO traffic and is only concerned about your $9.95 every month. The statements about Alexa numbers are proof enough and the lack of information now about sales. ADD IT UP PEOPLE AND WHAT DO YOU GET? Nothing more then a SCAM!

Quote:Ray always was a good used car salesman....he liked to drive home the point of 'perceived value.' Even if it's worthless.....he will try to make people think it has some value....and that's what he has done/is doing with WP!

I argued with him on more than one occasion about the 'perceived value' idea. To me...a piece of garbage is still a piece of garbage no matter how you wrap it up and spray it with perfume! But for some reason he felt that there were more people in the world that would buy into his BS than would see it for what it truly was....simple, unadulterated BS!!!!

I signed up for WP the second time around just to let him know what I thought about WP...and I did!!

The above quote is from CrystalStar on PSU.

Quote:The Sales Reports will likely change again to quarterly in early to mid 2008 as part of a larger related announcement.

Translation: Ray hopes to take Wagglepop public (i.e. issue stock) in early to mid 2008.

My take: NO SANE PERSON WOULD BUY WP in any way, shape or form including shares. It's not a business and has no value. This is why Ray couldn't give WP1 away, and it won't be any different for WP2. Take out Ray's promises, his dog and pony show, his rhetoric and dogma, and what do you have? NADA. A business is an entity that can be bought, sold and bartered like a commodity. WP, on the other hand, exists only as a thought in the minds of its beholders. This reason alone spells doom.

Wake up Poppers! Get real and get out!

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Yes I am at Tazbar. I too thought at first it was just for UK sellers. But after further reading and looking around I discovered it is for all sellers.

As someone said in another post they do not delete posts there. All questions are answered. They give clear answers not a bunch of beat around the bush and not really answer the question thing.

The owners of the site are up front no secrets or hiding. They even come to the boards ever so often to kid around with the rest of the members there.

The members there are very friendly and helpful. Now it took me a bit to get what some of the things they were talking about. But again you can ask a question about anything and they will explain it. They are really funny at times. Had to clean my monitor more than once.

It is really easy to list there. In your control panel you can see the hits and the watchers. You can check for messages. There is a section which is much list the auction section where you can post items your are looking for. Invoicing to buyers is really simple.

They have already done 1 TV advertising campaign in the UK. The second one started yesterday. They are in the works on getting a TV campaign to run here in the states in 2007. The first phase of the bulk lister is in the works and should be ready soon. I think but not really sure that I seen mention somewhere that if you have you listings ready in a file to bulk upload that if you contact them they could do it for you to get started.

They have stores in the works for early 2007.

Now as with all new sites the sales are a little slow. But the traffic has been picking up. I had 17 hits and 73 page views just for yesterday. I have sitemeter on my main selling page so I could check on the traffic.

I have sold a few small things so far. But what is good here is you can actually see the closed items to see what is selling. I did ask how long closed items would be available for viewing. I was told they would be kept as long as they had room to store them which would be a long time.

If you have a problem with your account like I did the other day. You get an answer and you get it fixed quickly. Not days or weeks later.

Also no one tells you when you have a problem with something that it is no way the site and it is your machine on your end. They check into it and see what is causing it and get back to you.

They ask for input from the members when they have something in the works. Members suggestions are heard and if possible used.

I could go on and on.

If you have any questions on anything your more than welcome to join us on the boards and ask them.

One of the things I liked initially about WP was the transparency of what
was going on here as offered by the weekly sales reports -- something that
is sorely lacking ( usually on purpose ) at all other online auction sites. In
a way these Monday postings were like the pulse of WP, and many of us
were curious each week to see what had transpired here in the previous
seven days.

While I think that going to a monthly sales report is still a good thing ( it
will give people both looking at WP as a possible sales venue as well as
those who are already selling here, a yardstick of sorts to go by ) I would
suggest that switching to only reporting sales numbers quarterly would be
a step in the wrong direction. I think it would benefit WP more to have
the reports made at more frequent intervals than every three months.

I can tell you this -- if WP had not been posting those weekly sales
report, I would never have given the place a shot several months ago. I
had had my fill of sites that would never step up and make public that
same sort of information. WP already had a lot to overcome because
of its "history" prior to the site's re-launch, but the "honesty" I saw with
making the sales numbers public I found reassuring and made me look
long and hard at WP. In the end, I ended up putting all my energies
into making my WP store my sole presence selling online ( and I had
been dabbling with Ebid, Ebay, OnlineAuction, iOffer, Yahoo & BidVille ).
Now all my efforts are put into my one store which resides here on WP.

I could see movement in the sales being made at WP, and though the
increases were often modest, at least there was growth, and a glimmer
of hope for better things to come.

The sales report is, I think, one of the strongest selling points of WP to
online sellers who have tried many other sites. Don't shoot yourselves in
the foot by changing it in 2008 to a quarterly report.

Just my 2¢

A really dynamic post by seller who was all  Gen013 just before the holidays.  This negative post, however, will probably get seller slapped soon.

Nono
