It's likely that it's just a dummy store that was set up by KaRay, to inflate the stores numbers--and no one is really paying for it.
And that is just one of many. I'll be reporting back on a few others in the near future that qualify under the same suspicion.

To PowerSeller if you still have the gall to lurk:

Quote:Hi xxxxxx,

Terry left and has a store at 'E' right now. It's not my place to say why especially since I don't have firsthand knowledge, but I really hope that she comes back soon. Even if she doesn't have a store and just puts up a couple of listings for custom stuff or whatever, it would be great to have her back as part of the community again. I know we have some business for her too. Smile

(Terry, can you hear me? We miss you!)

-- Alison

Additional post further down the thread from the same poster we know as PowerSeller:

Quote:A certain 'other Wagglepopper' that sold templates and logos left right after Terry did (and suspected that she may have been related to Terry's decision to leave).

You had it right the first time. It's NOT your place to say and you do NOT have firsthand knowledge. So ZIP IT!!!

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
WAGGLEFACT OF THE DAY

BLACK & BLUE ITEM NUMBERS

Look at the item listed below via an item # search:
Item # 20951
http://www.wagglepop.com/bin/auction/view?cmd=view&listingID=20951

We all know that this seller and store are not active in WP but the item is still active and counted in the listing count. If you need more conformation look at the listing. Notice the pics missing. Ray didn't host those pics and the seller deleted them from wherever they were hosted.

Try saving this item to your documents on your PC. When you do this you should get a save as Wagglepop - Spoiled Golden Retriever Embroidered Tshirt - XL-Black - Item 20951 - Ends Fri Dec 29, 1052 PM.

You can still search the item # in WP but it won’t come up out there among all the other listings only by an item # search. Once Ray lurks here and sees this wagglefact he will archive the listings which should make this listing a black item #. Like most sites if you check feedback 3 months prior the item #’s are black meaning archived. This holds true for WP and if you do an item # search for a black # you won’t find anything.

Blue numbers on the other hand mean the listing is active (not archived) as the above listing is and you could buy this item and many more like it if you managed them. So why is the listing active if the seller isn’t there anymore? For a few reasons and not only these ones:

Fudge the listing count by keeping inactive sellers listing’s on hold so they get counted by PSU and for the homepage listing #

Because this seller is not selling on WP anymore Ray will continue to use SEO so as to spam the store under searches such as google. Free advertising for WP.

Why do black numbers show up in feedback even if the item is not 3 months old? There are a few reasons for this as well:

The seller manually closed there store.

Ray for whatever reason doesn’t want you to be able to search the item.

There are more reasons as well for this but that is enough for now.

By the way I have saved all listings mentioned that were posted on TT about sellers listing’s that remain active after the seller is gone. If anyone has anymore don’t hold them back from this forum. I am sure there will be many more to come. I have also managed to save the entire FAS WP1 forum so it will never be lost. Any and all listings that get posted to TT about this situation I will save as well. If you feel more comfortable posting it in X-POP NATION then do so.

I came home from dinner last night and took a quick look at WP, and saw the AdSmart proclamation and nearly wet my pants in disgust. After a great dinner and a lovely glass of vintage Italian wine, I was not going to let this edict ruin my evening, but I'm ready to pick up from it today.

Apart from all the legal ramifications that may be associated with the use of the word AdSmart (it's almost as if Ray's TRYING to get his ass sued), this program has to be the ultimate insult to sellers in Poopland. Not only are they paying $10 every month per store ($50 for a "featured" store) for the divine privilege of calling themselves Poppers and having no sales, they are now offered the option of paying a minimum of $10 to open an AdSmart account to get their names in front of more invisible buyers. Haven't these people figured out yet that no matter how much they brag about themselves to each other, it's still the sound of one hand clapping?

The lengths at which Ray goes to separate Poopers from the income they don't make on this NON-BUSINESS VENUE and hand it over to Ray in exchange for "hope and faith" is truly shameless.

Sweet Girl: In answer to your question about the email contact, I don't know how the sysetm works. I always received messages from CC directly into my email at home. Any messages I received from other WP members was through the PM system on my account. CC also personally emailed a customer of mine (without my knowledge) and I went ballistic. I brought it to the board over there and my post was deleted. Another curious fact with the email forwarding system at WP is that all PMs are monitored for "compliance" with the TOS before being sent to the entended receiver. I'm not making this up. It's written right there in the fine print. This also infuriated me. Whatever I say to my customer and visa versa is nobody's frickin' business but ours unless we decide to go public with it.
bolding is mine. Karen told me in an email that they have no way of seeing private messages.  I believe I still have the email if it matters.

It is also possible that some of those one-item, several-month stores were closed long ago, but are still somehow showing up in the site search, as some members have reported.

Quote:Karen told me in an email that they have no way of seeing private messages.  I believe I still have the email if it matters.

PRINCESS: It's right there in the fine print that PM's are monitored for compliance. Why else would it be there if they don't do it? It is also true that some sellers claim to have had their PM's deleted from their boxes for "non-compliance." What does that say to you?

TRUTH: Somewhere in this thread I brought up the issue of the "black" number items on the feedback scores. I did investigate a couple of them where the links were still intact and found them to be items that were not really "sold", as the items still showed as active listings to some other member's inventory, although the FB was supposedly left by a "buyer". I can only assume there was some kind of "feedback exchange" with no real transaction involved. More fudge.

YOHB: I have also remarked about the mysterious appearance and disappearance of some stores which magically materialize as other sellers open or close theres', as has Truth. Furthermore, the number of stores with less than 5 items (80 in all) can't ALL be owned by sellers too stupid to realize having so few items and paying $10-$50/mo to have items worth 99 cents sit and not sell is not good business sense or they simply haven't figured out how to close their stores. Either some are: (a) Ray's (or brother's) "ghost" stores, (b) owned by sellers Ray knows and are not being charged fees in exchange for some other "favor" Ray is getting from them, or © used merely as "fronts" for the sellers' own web sites, and are therefore  advertising "write-offs."

Truly, I think Betty Crocker could take lessons in how to make fudge from KaRay. I get a diabetic attack just thinking about it.

Oh, and Princess: Was it YOU that provided us with the "warm fuzzies" post? Chiquita and I nearly puked when we saw that one. I especially couldn't believe it, as I recall PMing you early on about WP and how I thought it was a scam and got the feeling you were having some second thoughts, as well. Not long after the PM, I received my termination notice, so Chiquita and I thought maybe you were reeling me in to "turn me in" to KaRay, since you came back on the boards with pompoms all ablaze after my departure.
