After I quit spamming eBay boards with WP hurrahs, I started lurking.. and learning. a lot. by the way I apparently am stupid and misquoted that 3-year-goal should be 1-year-goal which WP has already surpassed. No matter. Regardless, I have begun to like lurking, but occasionally I'll jump in and surprise people. I was around FAS the last time, but didn't have a chance to open up at WP before the site fell. Now this impersonation of Karen that you speak of.. why and how would he do this and have time to do everything else and what makes you think it's him? I'm asking seriously, because I want to know. Name's Miranda, by the way...
Miranda...you were around the first time and still opened a store on WP after all the crap that went down, I don't get it.
I barely had a chance to read FAS when the site fell under and that was that. Plus I was so green to online selling that I didn't have a clue. |

Quote:I barely had a chance to read FAS when the site fell under and that was that. Plus I was so green to online selling that I didn't have a clue. Exactly. It's folks like you who fall prey to boinktards like Ray. And while all those naive little Poppers are rallying around the cause of board censorship as a way of distinguishing WP from eBay by presenting a squeaky-clean, neat, sweet, polite appearance, it's not Ray's background agenda at all. The real reason for censorship is to keep Poppers This is part of what makes WP a CULT, and not a business. Real businesses embrace knowledge and encourage questioning of the status quo -- THAT'S HOW THEY GROW AND PROSPER -- otherwise they stagnate and die. Ray and his paranoid dillusions of grandeur, implemented by fascist tactics to establish and maintain control over a mindless brood, will eventually strangle all the creative life force from WP. No thinking business person would want to associate with that type of entity in a free, democratic business environment. I can tell you that after the five buyers (who made 11 sales) I brought to WP heard about Karen's interception of my PM to one of them, ALL were appalled (as was I) and NONE will ever shop there again. |

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Hi all, and Happy New Year!
I just want to reply to a couple of things I read that have been posted in the past couple of days... and some things from way back that were triggered by these posts. Re YOHB's post with the link to Uncle Joe's Tradin' Post... That is (AFAIK) a legitimate business that has a store on eBay as well as on WP. They purchased a $99 custom logo/template package from me, and it's the logo I created that is showing in their store on WP. I can't say whether they have any connection or affiliation with WP, but their address was confirmed with their PP payment and it wasn't in New York. Why they only have one item in their WP store, I don't know, but I sure don't think it's a WP dummy store. With respect to black and linked item numbers... from what I could gather when I was selling, the non-linked items seemed to be tied to listings of mine that had multiple quantities, as all of my ready-made templates did. (And for the record, every single one of my feedbacks related to a legitimate purchase or sale -- none were feedback-only exchanges. I had one excellent customer who purchased almost every template I made. By the end, she was getting significant discounts on purchases due to the sheer quantity she bought, but there was a payment received for all of them.) Another glitch with multiple-quantity listings was that the buyer was listed in error as the seller, and the seller as the buyer. This was pointed out by me to WP in an Email dated October 1st, and I was told it was related to the testing of the upgraded feedback system. As far as I can tell, it was never corrected, but I'm not positive about that either. Best wishes to all for a healthy, happy and prosperous New Year. Terry |

Thanks for the replies. I sell collectable toys, mostly action figures and vintage glass & pottery. I am not looking to start my own website right now, I do not have the time or energy to start a project like that. I just want to stop paying so many high fee's to e-bay, looking to bring down that costly invoice.

bargainbloodhound - I have a dumb question. What do you have to do to Qualify as a seller on Ubid? Is it different than the other auction sites? I have looked there, but have never gotten past just looking.
Terry I know for a fact that all of your feedback was justly given. I hope you are doing well with your new ventures!

I don't doubt for a minute that Uncle Joe's is legitimate. What I am questioning is KaRay's possible use (or abuse) of the storefront. The item number for the current listing is 256803. That number were utilized back in the summer. However this store didn't show any item in it on December 4th when I took a snapshot of the active ones. So where has it been until a few days ago? :o I agree with your reasoning for the blacked items to some extent. Often it does indicate multiple item listings. I too had feedback items blacked, all legitimate sales, but I only listed individually. Never could figure out the why and frankly never bothered to ask WP. I've also run across other multiple item listings where they are not blacked out so there doesn't seem to be a concrete pattern. :-\ One of the few times I contacted CC was when a customer bought an item and was charged twice for it - one of the duplicate listings I didn't know I had (and didn't duplicate myself) until it was bought. The FVF was refunded promptly when I reported it but I had to send a manual Paypal request to omit the duplicate charge to my customer. It was supposed to be removed from my sales log but never was.
The one thing you can never afford to lose is your temper.
