Anyone else besides river rat and sherrand notice that Saturn's posts on PSU sound exactly like DRM. He is back. Does this guy sell anywhere on the internet?  :blinkie:

Yup. I wish there was some way to just ignore them and have them auto-delete. Drives me up a wall. Does the guy have a single, intelligent thing to say.. ever?? Buyer-friendly? I want some of those drugs.

A short list of some of WagglePop's Unethical practices:

1.) Flushing the whole site (Wagglepop the First) within days of opening, after thousands of sellers worked hard to create listings; with some orders still in process.

2.) Keeping all of those same seller's email addresses after claiming he had wiped the list clean (lying about deleting sensitive personal data, and then using it again for his personal gain).

3.) Charging people for the month AFTER they've closed their store, before they can officially leave. Imagine if your cable TV company charged you for the 30-day period AFTER you've moved out of your house and after your service has been disconnected and you can't even use it.

4.) Spamming eBay boards as a means of advertisement.

5.) Spamming other boards as a means of advertisement.

6.) Posting actual details from sellers' account balances in open public forums.

7.) Suddenly deleting and banning accounts based on unwelcome questions. Even eBay gives warnings.

8.) Claiming to have hand-coded and hand-developed the site (WP1), and carrying that illusion over into WP2 (the "tech department", "the coders").

9.) The owner of WP claiming his credentials were far greater than they were in reality--and then using those assumed credentials to try and garner more support for WP1.

This list could likely be 400 items long--but I've focused more on the weird business practices; the weird billing, so-called data deletion that never happened, and spamming--all FROWNED UPON by legitimate businesses, the BBB, etc.

He got banned on PSU before, lets see how long it takes this time.

Intrinsically the site has NO VALUE. This is why Ray couldn't give WP away the first time around and he can't do it now.

Remember the first time around when Ray tried to sell the WP domain for $40,000?

I feel bad that it failed the first time. It had to be horrible for the sellers that were there then.

Or he wouldn't care that it was Ray. It amazes me how many people still came to his defense after WP1 crashed. They believed his sad story about the poop and the ddos attack apparently.

Yes, the 'completed items' component will be in place.

>From my own perspective, I've never felt like that was much of a hindrance, or benefit, either way.

Open to input on this though.....but I'd like to see it stay in place if for no other reason than the few buyers that might want to research past pricing.....though I think those are very, very few.

A few responses followed that were negative outlining the abuse (undercutting prices and driving market value down) but it was admitted that overall, the majority of sellers liked viewing them for research.

After just a couple of posts, I see exactly what you mean.

It's almost like having your "books" open for everyone to see....

Perhaps if no one is really using it, which is my view, and it has a negative like this.....

Maybe we don't need it.

Let me look into if it affects programming, and think about it a bit.

This is exactly the kind of 'details' stuff that we need....kep the suggestions coming....

Completed search as a tool for catching shillers......Yes, I'd agree on that. It can be a useful tool. I need to weigh the need for buyers to have it available vs. the need for sellers to keep sales records private. This is one I have to give a lot of thought......

Thanks for the multiple quotes on the 'completed search' wants/needs from others. I'm going to see if I can get some hard statistics on this, but I suspect in the end I'll decide based on instinct....

Evidently KaRay's instinct was to go with a site that did not include completed searches for WP2. The first 2 posts give his personal thoughts on the feature. He was/is convinced it has no value and is not an important feature. I don't believe I saw exposure of completed listings as an inclusion in 2007.

It's not an Rscript feature, but even if it were Ray wouldn't allow it. As it is now he can doctor the sales reports forever. There is no way to verify their accuracy. If the closed items could be viewed, they would tell a different story.

The feedback page will show:

% positive
# of positives
# of neutrals
# of negatives

What it won't show, is the breakdown as on ebay "monthly", "last 6 months", "last year"....which is a certain giveaway to your business plan regarding sell-thru rates relative to listing and pricing levels.

That always bothered me too!

So when I asked on WP where the name came from, why was it treated as such a secret? What's the big deal? Why couldn't Karay just say Ray liked it and be done with it? What poppycock!
