Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens

I know there were problem sellers on the site because I recently tried to make purchases from two different sellers who apparently couldn't be bothered to complete the transactions.

I can't believe PS had the nerve to say that on PSU. If I were a buyer and I saw a comment like that, I would head for the hills. Especially if I knew anything about WP -- because I would know that as long as the sellers had paid-up accounts and hadn't posted a complaint on the boards, those sellers are still sellers unless they themselves decide not to be. And this is from a SELLER who was a buyer. Even the sellers can't trust each other.

Perhaps, their sales were so slow they seldom checked WP and never received the e-mail notice that a item was sold.  WP has had some problems with their e-mail notifications. Of course its easier for them to blame the sellers than WP.

Or, they could be sellers that had closed their accounts but their listings were still active. The emails wouldn't go through if the account wasn't active.

Last Night - WP Homepage = 154,929 listings

This Morning - WP Homepage = 155,206 listings

Store Count - 420

Looks like the manual update of listings has been completed. The poppers will be cheering that the count continues to rise despite the fact that a HUGE amount of stores closed last night. There is no way that count is correct. The only way the number of listings can go up that much after the colossal number of store closings is to use Wagglepop math. And sadly, the sellers at PopLand will believe the reassuring words Karen will no doubt will be posting on PopLand.

Wake up poppers. Go to the PSU Auction Site Count and look at the listing numbers for WP. Then grab a calculator and do the math for yourselves. Do a manual count at WP for yourselves. The numbers don't lie.

Their are so many issues with WP, it's almost beyond comprehension.

I read the PSU thread.  I'm not a member there, but then again, I was never a big seller.

I am truly disgusted with the fact that they choose bits and pieces of a thread to post without keeping it in context.  Yes, we joke around, but I don't know of a person here that would choose to randomly click on some seller's ads just to cost them money and put it in Ray's pocket.  That is beyond ridiculous.

They act as if we all have something to be ashamed of.  I use this name everywhere I go (except WP, of course).  I don't hide behind a sock puppet.  I stay on WP because I am friends with sellers that still have their shops there.  I enjoy browsing to see what's new from those talented people.

As far as posting goes, yes, I was determined to ask the questions that didn't get answered.  I needed answers.  I never got them.  I asked in a polite, courteous way.  I have never been on the boards at WP and bashed anyone.  All I did was ask....if that's considered wrong, well, then, I am wrong.

So, Wagglepoppers (if that doesn't offend you as name calling), if you don't like reading the truthful experiences from former sellers at your venue then please stay away.  If you have something constructive to contribute or wish to ask about what happened to us to turn us away from your dynamic site, feel free.  Let me warn you, however, you cannot censor us here and we are a very honest bunch.

troublemakers are people who see they can't win in a debate and they revert to calling spam or pushing spam button....my stuff here is so so valuable you do NOT understand!!

well now we know what spam is.... yep my stuff is very much needed posts.. info on wp and info on the mother of all NEEDS izs understanding the natural laws.. which govern everything including buying and selling and the success or failure..

now anyone trying to say spam will now be proven to be just troublemakers and jealous types whch is against forum rules big time!!!! now we know the troublemakers!!

Hello Members,

The account reviews process completed yesterday and the addition of automation to the account status process monthly may be our single most important moment to date, and should serve as a clear signal of our intentions moving forward.

We certainly would not define the Stores and roughly 2,000 items that no longer appear active due to non-payment of seller fees as a loss LOL.

Rather, it has made our community a stronger one, by tangibly defining who we are and what we want to be, and we feel it is a clear mandate from management that fairness and responsibility are valued first above all else.

Much of the way we operated in 2006 was necessary for two important reasons: to attract a pool of users from which we would narrow and define our base for 2007, and to allow time to discover and address issues which appear only in a live site long-term environment.

We have not and will not ever operate the site simply to inflate or tout participation statistics. That's meaningless.

We are incredibly excited about all of the upcoming changes and implementations for Q1 2007 and beyond, and confident that we now have the exact seller "base" that we'll need to support the upcoming marketing. Of course, those efforts will and should support only sellers in good standing.

3:23 am EST this morning when seller account reviews were completed marks the first step in building and marketing a bigger and better worldwide Wagglepop.

Getting a bit defensive are we? Anybody"trust" this bolded statement?

Recall my mention last week of Uncle Joe's Cabin? The one item wonder that cropped up as active a few days prior to my post but with a listing number assigned during the summer? I clarified that I did not believe for a minute that the seller wasn't legitimate but proposed that this was one of the stores KaRay was using to inflate the store count. Well it's one of the stores that went poof last night.

There were a quite a few others I made note of that were identical in layout. No me page, no logo, no categories built (just All Items), same default colour scheme, identical fonts used and sometimes the same style of picture composition were other traits they had in common. They are all gone too.

Others from the last two pages I found actively listing and selling on eBay, on other sites or from their own websites with no sign of their meager Wagglepoop presence being used as a portal to their lucrative businesses.

Methinks someone has used the most recent culling of the collective as an opportunity to cover their tracks.

Examples of successful ventures that endure public criticism daily.

We will succeed for the same reason all businesses that succeed do: by offering a timely product at a good value, with high standards for operation and customer service.

All successful companies will tell you it's impossible to please everyone all the time, and we agree.

Discussion boards are exactly for that: discussion.

But running a successful business is something else entirely

Very sad indeed.
