ADMIN:
Notworthy Notworthy Notworthy

What makes this forum even MORE valuable, is that unlike eBay, where there actually WAS some kind of discussion (as I understand it) of the Ethical Tools at eBay, when it comes to WP, there IS NO OTHER DISCUSSION.

If Sellers want to hear any views other than those that Ray will allow (and it has been proven without question that what he does and does not allow is totally arbitrary and the probability of its acceptance is directly proportional to its value on Ray's pocket book), they have NO CHOICE but to come to forums like this one.

I, for one, am concerned for MY pocket book and those of every other seller on-line.

I've had a few people contact me to let me know that (according to them): A. 'this topic is full of violations of our forum rules'  :blinkie: B. 'makes our site look bad'  :blinkie: and C. 'has turned into a war against Wagglepop'.  :blinkie:

My response:

1. No, I will not delete the thread :Smile

2.  No, I will not delete the posts a handful of people have found objectionable. :Smile

3. No I will not tell people to stop complaining about Wagglepop or pointing out its problems.  :Smile

4.   I heard similar complaints during debates over the Ethical Tools Extender tool in 2005 when a few users of Ethical's extender tool referred to both TT and OTWA users as  "the lunatic fringe" and accused both site's users of conducting a war against eBay. I didn't bow to the wishes of a few PeSA members then and end the debate... :Smile

Ethical Tools user Wrote:Now those same folks are attacking other third party tools from Channel Advisor and others. eBay is smart enough to see that the "lunatic fringe" is all about destroying and attacking things on eBay. Right now they are attacking third party tools. If eBay lets them win, then they will keep attacking eBay because they will feel empowered.

http://www.otwa.com/community/showpost.php?p=284193&postcount=762

5.  Like the Ethical Tools debate in 2005 (which focused on the Extender Tool's unleveling of eBay's alleged "level playing field"), the purpose of this thread is to help and inform sellers...not to hurt sellers or bring down an auction site.  I fail to see the reasoning behind why some people believe it is OK to criticize problems that effect sellers on auction site A (in this case eBay) but at the same time they believe problems on auction site B (in this case Wagglepop) should be ignored and not discussed.

6.  See #5 above. If this thread was about eBay instead of Wagglepop the people who object to it would be cheering the thread.  The people who object to this thread have in fact made comments about eBay that are very similar to the ones being made here about Wagglepop.

7.  Anyone who wants to read posts that only contain positive messages about Wagglepop can do so by visiting Wagglepop's own forums. Wagglepop sellers and ex-sellers who have complaints about Wagglepop can not voice their complaints on Wagglepop's own forums so they are free to contnue doing so here exactly as they have been during the last 450  pages, and likewise those who want to praise the positive aspects of Wagglepop are free to continue doing so on this thread... Smile

[/quote]

ADMIN... I quoted you because I wanted to see your post again!  :Smile

THANK YOU for making it clear to the "others" that we have the right to our own type of "therapy" as they do bashing eBay on the WP site.

THANKS AGAIN!!!!! Sunny Sunny Sunny Sunny

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Wagglepop had a 1 week ranking of 248,548 at Alexa.
:o

The three month reach and rank averages while still positive are also decreasing.

Apparently, they haven't kicked off the promised advertising campaign that was suppose to increase traffic. I still believe they were never going to advertise.  Of course they could always prove me wrong by pointing out a site where they have an ad, but I don't think thats going to happen unless its a site that Ray owns.

The only advertising they will ever do is spam. For everything else they have natural law!!

Quote:Why so much hatred for TT and time spent at the TT forum? I think you would be much happier if you stopped reading the TT thread and focused on other things

Natural law applies above as well! It's part of the  Smileykoolaid

As soon as I saw the E-Commerce "Stick a Fork" article I thought I might be in trouble. Had I known about that article and this site BEFORE I invested (and wasted) 3 months' of my life in WP, I WOULD NEVER IN A MESOZOIC ERA have made that fateful mistake. Luckily, I was smart enough to suspect something was amiss even before seeing all this stuff and THAT's when I started doing some investigation and FOUND YOU GUYS! Until then, I thought I was alone in my suspicions, as all I got from Ray & his entourage of cheering Poppers were put-downs, bash-ins, and repeatedly told everything was right with them, and everything was wrong with me. Could I have been that off-base after 26 years in business for myself, 8+ years of it on-line?

I owe you guys much more than you know. You have restored my faith that there is a world beyond eBay, and even old dogs like myself are capable of learning new tricks. And all this cost me nothing, except the willingness to invest in my own personal enrichment. Ray's con job brought me here, so I guess I should thank the boinktard.

Hey, Ray!  Notworthy Notworthy

Wagglepop 2007 and Beyond
January 2007
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As 2006 ends and 2007 begins, we enter not only a new year but a new chapter in the history of our community and endeavor. 2007 will bring many changes, but the most important dynamic that the new year brings is one of ongoing vision; the ability to analyze where we have been and see clearly where we are going. To date, we have shown clearly that there is extremely good acceptance of Wagglepop and the Wagglepop "values and beliefs" as the foundation that we are built upon. Our challenge for 2007 is simply one of scale. If we can build a site with 10,037 members and 154,841 listings over one year with minimal marketing and a limited target area (the US, the UK, Canada), what can we do with accelerated marketing, additional and improved features and functionalities, and a worldwide expansion?
To us, the answer is clear. We are just getting started, and the best, as the saying goes, is yet to be.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"We're looking for something where we can make something happen: an industry where the competition is asleep, hasn't taken advantage."

- Wayne Huizenga

For about a dozen years, eBay has virtually monopolized the online auction arena. For the majority of that time they've done it in the ways that all large companies are built, by offering a timely or unique product at a good value, but somewhere along the way the "good value" part got lost, and in in doing so also lost was the sense for many users of community and trust.

Where there are unhappy customers, there is an opportunity, and that's an opportunity we intend to seize over the coming year and beyond.

"Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work."

   - Thomas Edison

Building Wagglepop into a worldwide alternative will not come from simply our ideas about how an online auction site should be built for the 21st century alone. Wagglepop is being built and will continue to be built the way all successful companies are, through hard work, dedication, and perseverance.

The world is full of talented failures, and those who blame everything and everyone for their failures or shortcomings. But find someone who is willing to work as hard as needed, who puts ideas and thoughts into action, and you'll find a success in the making.

We will not be able to outspend our main competition, but we will certainly outwork them by doing all of the things that need doing and understanding that our single greatest resource is the voice of our customers.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

   - Mark Twain

To cost of participation as a seller under SmartSell Pro is an incredibly value-packed $9.95. But there is a greater force at work with each passing day for those that are participating and those who would; the hope of building something together that will stand the test of time.

It's always easier to stick with the status-quo, to say if it has not been done before it will never be, to say trying is fruitless.

Don't believe it. Every great endeavor throughout history came with the same baggage. To start something, to be David to the Goliath, to persevere when times are tough, to have faith and patience and vision when you know your path is the right one; those are the things that make greatness and lead to our greatest successes.

Never be afraid to try, and never listen to the cynics, who know the price of everything yet the value of nothing.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Recognize opportunity.

Do the work.

Believe.

That's it. That's the philosophical formula we'll use as a company and community to accomplish we clearly see as our goals both today and tomorrow. Together, if we can recognize opportunities and seize them, are willing to do the work no matter how long or hard, and work with clear vision and patience with belief in our common goals, we are sure to succeed.

The world is full of people who have achieved great things simply by daring to.

Those who achieve great and unexpected things leave that legacy forever, while the critics who said it could not be done are resigned to the trash can of history.

Let's make 2007 the year we changed everything.

For those who cannot read the wonderful informative January 2007 newsletter
