Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens

4.  I heard similar complaints during debates over the Ethical Tools Extender tool in 2005 when a few users of Ethical's extender tool referred to both TT and OTWA users as  "the lunatic fringe" and accused both site's users of conducting a war against eBay. I didn't bow to the wishes of a few PeSA members then and end the debate...

And who turned out to be right? Oh yeah! The lunatic fringe.  8)

By the way, I think Ray and co. forgot to add a few quotes from a certain evil, non-Christian pagan Taoist:

The ideal general
feeds his troops before he eats his own dinner
clothes his troops before getting clothes for himself
pays his troops before paying himself
ensures his troops are safe before securing his own safety
leads his troops personally into battle, rather than letting them get in danger's way first


Oh--the list goes on. I'll stop here. I think we can assume "general" can safely apply to "boss," "leader," "CEO"

Wagglepop sees itself as David and eBay as its Goliath. The religious references in the site don't end there. But unlike David, Wagglepop has no slingshot and its owner Ray Romeo does not walk on water. And unlike Goliath, eBay is not a big, mean ogre all e-buyers hate. Like it or not, the reality is, eBay, despite its size, reputation, experience, and longevity in e-commerce, still activity works to maintain its presence and position which pure and simply brings the site business. Wagglepop is simply a novelty, a party line largely composed of disenfranchised eBay sellers of books, post cards, magazine ads and trading cards (curiously these were the types of items the owner of the site sold on eBay, where he still has a store, although he claims to have severed all ties with eBay) and stay-at-home moms selling crocheted doilies, home-made candles and their todders' out-grown overalls.

I hope all the stay-at-home moms get the chance to move their doilies and candles to Etsy.

Tomorrow's wardrobe will be shorts and a tank top. Big change from 11 years ago tomorrow for New York. Some of us were digging out of 30+ inches of snow from the blizzard of 96'
