RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
I know that I'm speaking to the choir here, but I had wanted to find out more solid data about wp staffing, and I just finally found the page I was looking for: http://www.wagglepop.com/bin/Accessory/wagglepop-today
According to this, Wagglepop will reach a breakeven point when it reaches 700 stores. It also has a listing number estimate, but if the majority of sellers are store owners, then that won't matter. So, with 700 stores at $9.95 per month, that's $6,965 per month or $83,580 per year. There would also be some income from FVF and possibly banner ad income, so maybe that increases it to 90K. One of his expenses, I assume, will be the cost of leasing RS Script, which I guess is just about free: http://www.rscript.com/buy/ at $49/mo, or $588 per year. I'm not sure what any of the other expenses would be, but I'd assume that they have to be at least a few thousand a year, so let's say the number is an even 85K. On the wp forum, "Karen" has often mentioned "Monday morning Staff meetings." Since "she" doesn't describe this as "calling Ray," there's obviously an attempt being made to portray the company as having enough employees to fill a small conference table, and many poppers have easily accepted this as fact. So assuming that there's a maximum of 85K to distribute between a conference table's worth of employees -- I wonder what Wagglepop plans to pay everyone? |
