Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Hello. I've been a lurker here for a couple months. Finally decided to get a username. ;D
About WPSSU - Brian was a hardcore supporter of WP for a long time. He opened his own forums so everyone could go and talk freely about whatever subject since WP was deleting posts. :-\ Well, Brian started banning members because they decided to talk about a subject that apparently Brian did not like because it questioned the advertising WP was saying they were going to start. And now Brian has nothing nice to say about WP at all. He is totally against the site since they asked him not to post anything more about WPSSU on their boards. He says he has emails and decided to share them to "show" everyone what was happening behind the scenes. Then when he opened his forums to all sellers, he went in and deleted threads that concerned that subject and anything that referred to this board (and you should have read some of the things he was posting about you guys :-[). Now Brian is going to open his own auctionsite. Who's to say it won't turn out exactly like WP at this point (with the deleted posts and such)? I'm not here to defend anything, just to "open people's eyes" as people have been on this thread. I've been around WP and the WPSSU boards when all of this started. Basically sitting on the side lines watching all the fun and frolic. UniqueSeller |

(and you should have read some of the things he was posting about you guys :-[).
This might come across as harsh but I can't really think of any other way to say it. I'm not in high school anymore, I don't care what people say about me, not really. Maybe to a point but I'm not going to lose sleep over it. And I'm sure we said some not so nice things about Brian. And we all knew he was under the influence anyway, just like we were when we were sellers on WP. Plus we're all in business here. We cannot have such a thin skin or we will be out of business. Not unlike what happened to Ray last time, eh? And, even this time, I speak for myself, Ray could have kept me (for at least a little while longer) if he had a thicker skin and would allow things to be said and even bring his own views to the table about things said (on WP forums). But he didn't. So I don't trust him. Perhaps I was swayed by the others who disliked Ray very much (with good reason from what I see) but I had to take care of my business. I couldn't let it rest in the hands of a madman. OK, Ray may not be a madman, but he sure hasn't done much to dispel that rumor, has he? Edited to add: and then even if he does, then he will laugh at us and say "Oh you didn't believe and I will never let you back on my site!" Ridiculous. If that's not egotism and greed, I don't know what is. |

unique
thanks for your post I really don't care what others have to say about what is posted here. I would probably never have left WP if the open conversation that we have here was allowed. Freedom of speech is something I would die for. We all take our chances on whatever site we decide to use. We all make mistakes. The only person I am here to judge is KaRay. I'm glad you decided to post and come out of lurkdom. Please feel free to share - good or bad.

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Thanks to BellisimaJ and FineThings4U for the welcome.
As I stated in my first post, I am just here to share the information that I have been gathering. I understand that this thread is to show the bad things about WP. But its also important to understand the people who left WP and why they say the things they do. I just found it SO amazing that someone who was such a proud popper and who discouraged people to listen to the "babbling idiots" over here would change their tune so quickly. And for that person to delete threads and ban people just like the site they are sooo against now. And now to come to the people who he despised to receive praise and cheers. I guess I will never understand human nature... UniqueSeller |

I could kick myself for not doing that before, but such is life and that is how I learn. Always backwards lol, or as I go. I, for one, do not trust anyone 100% anymore. I am guarded now and forever. I would hope that those of us who didn't do that before WP will certainly do so now. |

Hello. I've been a lurker here for a couple months. Finally decided to get a username. ;D
. I harbour no concerns as to why you signed up because we are always pleased to exchange thoughts and experiences with new people. Quote:About WPSSU - Brian was a hardcore supporter of WP for a long time. He opened his own forums so everyone could go and talk freely about whatever subject since WP was deleting posts. :-\ Once upon a time I was a die-hard supporter too although not nearly as proactive as Brian. It takes a lot of passion and energy to be that motivated. And when the dream dies, as it did for Brian, where do you think all that passion and energy goes? There is no key or switch that is labeled "delete loyalty and all associated emotions". It becomes redirected. It's called venting and all of us here have gone through it. The intensity expressed is equal for pro or con. Quote:Well, Brian started banning members because they decided to talk about a subject that apparently Brian did not like because it questioned the advertising WP was saying they were going to start. And was he still a full-blown cheerleader at this point, with his devotion sitting firmly in KaRay's pocket? Then I can see the why but I can also understand your point of view. Quote:And now Brian has nothing nice to say about WP at all. He is totally against the site since they asked him not to post anything more about WPSSU on their boards. And this reaction is totally understandable from my side of the issue as I've been there - done that. The deeper you love or believe in something or someone, the deeper the hurt when it turns around and bites you. Quote:He says he has emails and decided to share them to "show" everyone what was happening behind the scenes. Take a gander back through this thread. Many of us did the exact same thing. Posted emails from WP. It seems to me it's a natural reaction when you feel you've woken up and begin seeing everything in a different light, even written words. Quote:Then when he opened his forums to all sellers, he went in and deleted threads that concerned that subject and anything that referred to this board (and you should have read some of the things he was posting about you guys :-[). Don't blame him one bit for deleting these threads. You can't open up a forum, invite the world in, only to have them read carp about themselves. It's called a fresh start in my books. If I compare what Brian supposedly wrote to some of the things I've said in the past along a similar vein, then I can very well image. I have a great imagination! Quote:Now Brian is going to open his own auctionsite. Who's to say it won't turn out exactly like WP at this point (with the deleted posts and such)? Who's to say indeed? But whose to say that Brian hasn't learned from his own experience either. KaRay screwed up royally on his first shot out of the barn, yet people came back for round two hoping he had learned some valuable lessons. In my opinion he didn't and I'm sure your opinion will differ which is fine. Quote:I'm not here to defend anything, just to "open people's eyes" as people have been on this thread. I've been around WP and the WPSSU boards when all of this started. Basically sitting on the side lines watching all the fun and frolic. I'm not defending anything either but speaking from my experience and from the other side of the issue. As one who has walked in Brian's shoes through the same gamut of experience. The same sense of betrayal. Each of us, you and I, have a common motive in mind - to open eyes. I hope when we are done everyone's eyeballs aren't bulging like a frog's! Quote:UniqueSeller
I just found it SO amazing that someone who was such a proud popper and who discouraged people to listen to the "babbling idiots" over here would change their tune so quickly. And for that person to delete threads and ban people just like the site they are sooo against now. And now to come to the people who he despised to receive praise and cheers. I would hope that those of us who didn't do that before WP will certainly do so now.
I DITTO that statement, Randa. Eons ago, I took a little trip over at WPSSU and may have posted once, as I heard it was a place to go and talk about WP sans censorship. My post was not deleted, but I was drowned in Koolaid and like WP, I didn't care for the cliquey atmosphere. I locked horns with Brian over at Blogging Stocks when he was in his "red and blue Popper" phase, as well. And now, by way of the grapevine, I discover that Brian and Ray have been throwing sand in each other's faces over at Ray's sandbox and Brian ran to his corner in a huff. I don't know what all that was about, but what I do know is that what we have here are a couple of very strong-willed individuals out to prove a point. This is not good business. I was recently PM'd by a WPSSU member who suggested I take a peak over at WPSSU to gain some insight into what was "coming down" as it were, and why everything has been so hush-hush here, due to "lukers" on our site. I did, and discovered that Brian appears to have amassed his own group of followers who are intending to do their own thing. I replied to the PM that I wish the group lots of luck, but at this point, I'm very gun-shy about getting involved in ANY new venture, especially one that had anything whatsoever to do with WP now or in the past. The scenary may have changed, but the personalities haven't, so this member of the jury is excusing herself from the courtroom and not getting involved in any decission-making until long after the dust is settled on the case. Why posters come on this forum like thiefs in the night, with nothing of substance to offer, avoiding confrontation, afraid of "lurkers", yet alluding to major issues leads me to believe there is some unspoken personal agenda going on -- "soft spam" if you will. Since they know "hard core" spam is frowned upon here, they come on with faces veilled, dance around, entertain us but don't come out and tell us REALLY why they are here. Is it a sneaky way of luring us into their camp? Why not just come out with it, so we can make up our own minds. To Unique, whoever you are, I couldn't give a wombat poo poo about what others have said about me on WPSSU or any place else. I'm sure it's nothing I haven't heard before, and I stand behind everything I say. Sometimes I'll goof up, but will admit it, and that's that. No one will shut me up, not even KARMA GREMS! |
