RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
I am so glad to hear that, I think everyone just needed to take a good look at what is important...their own business.  The true number of hits they are receiving, who their buyers are, where their traffic is coming from and most important reality.

Vital, keep things real on WP.  Watch out for my friend and keep looking all the new posts by Ray/Karen.  The Sales Report additions, the user agreement and answers to fixes.

I am going to say this simply because they were my two biggest worries:  If you want buyers make your homepage welcoming to buyers....and darn it anyway, if you are on the up and up put a page on your site with company information, where you are located, who your Owner is and don't be elusive when someone asks a simple question like one seller did -- how many people work at WP.  Simple answer.  1, 3 or just me.  End the round robin game and don't sound untrustworthy.

Glad I am gone and happy elsewhere.
Good bye all

You're not the only one who doesn't think WP's home page is buyer friendly. See below:

Perspective from the 'buyer, never been an auction seller corner' Smile

Buyer orientated home page: auctions.amazon.co.uk
Another buyer focused home page: auctions.overstock.com
primarily seller orientated home page: www.wagglepop.com

Can you guess which one would make me hit the back button as a buyer?

The Wagglepop home page tells me the site's main focus is collecting seller fees rather than attracting buyers.

Thank you very much for backing up my point.  I did ask the question on WP and only one person responded, not Karen.  It was the typical "They are working on it"  "It's in the plans"  My thought was "Not until someone gets rich and it is not the sellers"

Add me to that list. From a buyer's perspective, I think it looks like sh.it. I want to see what is for sale not "sign up to sell" plastered all over the home page. Ray is not nearly as smart as he thinks he is. Tongue3

I was only curious if you were someone I "knew" from the Stores Board from when I used to hang out there.  I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable.  My apologies.

Sweetgirl,
No, I no longer sell on eBay.  I think eBay is an unethical piece of carp company.  I hate 'em.  BUT I don't hate the people that sell there.  Well, not most of 'em anyway.  lol

As far as you and your friend concerning WP... that is a shame that the two of you just can't agree to disagree.   :'(

As far as WP front page... I haven 't been there lately, but if it still looks like an eBay knock off... then it SUCKS.  Icon_geek

Anita where are you selling now?  I still do auctions on ebay as I consign for a couple of people and I have to guarantee the best exposure  Busted  I am not really happy with ebay, but have to go where the sales are for the people I assist.  I have met so many wonderful people on ebay!

My hope is that my friend and I will agree to disagree, right now it is in limbo. Icon_thumleft

You didn't make me uncomfortable, ok just a little  Munky2 (my son said I had to use the munky)

It sucks it looks worse than ebay  Happy001

RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Ok, Sweet Girl kept dragging me over here to read posts...She knows I can't keep my mouth shut (or in this case fingers off the keyboard). So as the store with the sixth largest inventory on WP. I am slowly leaving WP.  Wave
I have opened 2 stores on ecrater and 1 on iOffer. I cannot afford not to have our items for sale somewhere. I sold on eBay for 2 years, doing good, Powersellers and all that...
In April it started crashing and hit major skids by July. Our last auctions totally died on the vine on E.
Wagglepop is not going anywhere without a bulk loader that the site cannot handle. Hence it's dead also. WP was a quick landing spot until we decided where to place our items..

Enough about me! Nice to meet all of you....and make sure Sweet Girl gets some work done!
Notworthy Thanks for your wisdom!

That might explain why only 12 topics have been posted on their bidding/buying board since mid-May Smile

WP Store closing:
Quote:Now let's have a look at the sell through rate.
With $500 fees I have a sell through rate on Ebay of $2,700 a month. (average) This is 5.4 times more than I pay fees.
With a $11 fee right now here on Wagglepop, I had a sell through rate of $25,. This is 2.28 times more than I pay fees.

...which leads me to the conclusion, Wagglepop isn't cheap. It is more than triple as expensive as Ebay is, if you see the relation.

When you put a dollar value on your time spent listing and figure out how much you're making per hour for your effort , very few venues, even the free ones, are cheap or free.

Do you sell on eBay Question:
Quote:No, I no longer sell on eBay.  I think eBay is an unethical piece of carp company.

Ditto. We finished our eBay career with about 12,500 transactions on our selling IDs and have no plans to return.  eBay was under 1% of our online sales last year and its been 0% since we left in May.  Now we're primarily web site based and also sell on Amazon, Overstock, and Yahoo.  We also sell have items listed on Alibris, GEMM, Half.com, iOffer, Bidville, ePier, eBid, and LiveDeal but sales on all of them suck Smile
