Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens

They grand-reopened in May of last year. 

Are they grand reopening again because they drove all the sellers away the first and second try?

This makes no sense....but then again, I don't know why I thought it should.

Thursday 3/1 - Wagglepop Grand Opening!

Particular elements of the overall plan will be implemented on Thursday, 3/1/07, which will mark the official launch and grand opening of Wagglepop, and mark our introduction to the world outside of the existing base on a considerable scale.

Notes

The "Grand Opening" will continue through September 1st, 2007 marking a dedicated six month advertising and marketing campaign and budget for that period.

So what was wagglepop prior to its grand opening? (Oh yeah I forgot a Beta Test for the real wagglepoop) :blinkie:

Does this mean we now need to call it WP3.
At the rate this is going WP will have more sequels than Rocky.

To date, Wagglepop has represented itself under a conventional "soft launch" mode, without any of the advertising, promotion, and/or media events that mark the official launch of all companies, online or offline.

Many of our members have understood the necessity for and the dynamic surrounding the past 10 months and the soft launch. It is a critically important part of building a business that can both stand prosper and stand the test of time before introduction to the world, and we are now poised and ready for that challenge.

None of the past few months or the official launch moving forward would be possible without our incredibly dedicated existing membership, including a seller body that has populated the site with a huge variety of interesting items and products.

For that support, you have the thanks of all of us. What happens moving forward is possible only because of that, and you should all be as proud of yourselves as we are of you.

Translation: All 2006 Poppers were used by us as guinea pigs for a "soft launch." Soft launch is our way of saying these guinea pigs were responsible for creating our business while we did no advertising, no promotion, hid in the shadows, and used coercive tactics, shame, guilt, and promises of milk and honey to convince them to do what should have been our job -- create a business. That way, we could take no responsibility for WP if it crashes and burns. We could simply say Poppers didn't do their job. Furthermore, the soft launch strategy means that if we did crash and burn, we could just disappear into the woodwork and not suffer the public embarassment and humiliation of being the laughing stock of the e-commerce world -- again. Maybe Poppers would have, but that's not our problem.

We know some Poppers would figure out what we were doing and leave. They were the ones incapable of trust. For the 1/3 of you who did our work -- we thank you. Of course, we weren't going to tell you of this gross manipulative plan until a year later, because we didn't want EVERYBODY to leave, as we knew they would had they known they were simply pons in our scam.

Ladies and Gentlemen, 

Step back a moment and look at yourselves. You are all being way too harsh.  Ray has built a unique, innovative auction site, filled with dynamics unheard of previously in the auction industry and has gone where no narcissistic entrepreneur has ever gone before. And with astounding success!

WP has had no less than 3 Grand Openings on the world wide web. No other auction site can boast of the same.

WP has revolutionize the world of mathematics by unveiling a previously unknown, but seller attractive, formula for calculating totals pertaining to listings and sales; oh, and percentages as they relate to both.

WP has removed the stigma of multiple personality disorder being an affliction by making Karen a household name, or two names or three maybe.

WP has skillfully tutored countless floundering members, er...founding members on the proper etiquette for posting on their not so public forum. They now recognize the true value of a trust based community: "the less said the better".

WP has successfully introduced marketing enhancements during their soft launch phase. Enhancements such as the in-house Ad Smart which was the first of it's kind. Reminiscent of a dog chasing it's tail but have you ever noticed how much fun dogs have when they are doing it?

And don't forget all the wee little improvements introduced through numerous brain-storming, round-table Monday morning meetings, the tweaking of sophisticated hardware and software necessary to bring these dynamic changes to fruition. You must realize this induced a tremendous financial burden.

I could go on and on but I think my point has been succulently made. You should be giving WP a standing ovation accompanied by thunderous applause for their dedication towards growth for the site and the inevitable success in sales that these unprecedented strategies will bring. Viva la revolution!

Raymond, you may be right.  You can make online auctions security and trust look worse than eBay ever did.  I can make you look like the idiot you truly are.

I wonder how long those links will remain. If it is a regular seller, not long. If it is one of Ray's stores, forever (or as long as Pop Land remains open, which won't be too long by the looks of things there)

I had stopped quoting posts from WP as a courtesy and out of respect for the sellers who became upset over it. But I'm about to make an exception. PS. Considering our different views, I've still done my best to defend you here on TT but with this post you have crossed a line that even I can't excuse.

Neato! I'm not quite ready for the party just yet, but I should be able to get dressed up nicely sometime before 9/1.

I do feel good about having a Showcase store in place when Wagglepop is about to really 'go public'.

Some people say that Wagglepop had more sellers back in '06. The flip side of that coin is that all of the BEST are still here, and the 'average' Wagglepop seller/store now is much more solid and well stocked than ever before. IMHO.

OMG. I am appalled that someone had the audacity to post that remark. Many sellers that left gave it their all and left for numerous reasons, not because they weren't one of the best. There were some great sellers that paved the way for the sellers that remain at Pop Land, but chose to leave for their own reasons. That in NO way made them any less of a seller that the sellers that choose to remain at WP.

So, if for financial reasons you decided to leave Pop Land, that would make you NOT one of the best?

There are ex-sellers of WP here on this site, and I would buy from any one of them in a heartbeat. They are the best sellers, made even better because they found an honest place to sell their items.

You owe many WP ex-sellers a HUGE apology.
