Don't forget about adding up your basic internet/computer fees, too, to mentally calculate your monthly expenses...

Back on topic:  WP stores now count 916.  That breaks down monthly to:
  916 Basic x $10 = $9160
  46 Featured x another $10 = $460
  28 Showcase x another $30 = $840

Total monthly income right now on Store fees alone:  $10,460

Turtlegaby just closed their store on Wagglepop...I don't know how many items they had, but they were always very "cheerleading on the forums". Stating lack of sales and traffic.  Cya

Yep. It will be downhill from now on for Ray and his pitiful little dream.

After expenses, his net isn't nearly enough to hire a technical support/programming staff (or even one competent programmer) or a customer service staff or to advertise.  His competitors eBay, Overstock, uBid, Amazon, etc spend millions yearly on advertising and have millions in monthly revenues (and cash in the bank).

IF he has the infrastructure he claims and can handle the traffic he claims he can, he would be spending thousands monthly on hosting/bandwidth alone.

In order for him to compete effectively with eBay and bring in outside buyers he would need venture capital backing which is unlikely for a US focused general auction site that is a virtual clone of eBay.

I think she's the one Amy quoted in post #869.  She said she was selling $25 monthly on WP compared to $2700 on eBay.

Which will probably happen when folks start pulling out at a fairly rapid pace.  They won't want all their possible Xmas sales and Xmas income sitting over there with no possibility of anything happening...

quote from the WP boards:
Quote:I guess I just have to add a quick note some of the reasons some of the negative (so to say) stores hasn't done well is because of their posts.

I knew that people were labeled positive/negative but this is the first time I have seen stores labeled the same way :blinkie:  :Smile I wonder how many PeSA members have business models that revolve around positive/negative posts on a message board.  Laughing7

Did the SRG move to WP? There a bunch of "positive people only post here" threads today. Something tells me that if I acted the same way on the WP boards that I act on the eBay boards (and spoke to Karen WP the same way I have spoken to Chris T and Nalani/Carole over the years) that I would have been NARU'd on Day 1.  Laughing7

Good then you won't hear this.  752 sales on WP last week, 5700 members...which works out to 0.53 monthly sales per member and makes the $9.95 look not so cheap since the average selling price is probably below $10 (this is assuming that 99% of members are sellers which appears to be the case).
