Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Minis:
Many of us here know EXACTLY how you feel. The KaRay team consists of one person who is a liar and a hypocrite. Ray expects his Poppers to run their businesses with the utmost honesty, integrity and transparency with a 100% commitment to their customers, yet offers none of this to his "customers," the sellers of WP. Why some Poppers insist on defending his boinktardian way of doing business (like Xbay on PSU and PowerSeller here do), is beyond me. Either they are totally Koolaid drugged by this cult leader, too proud to eat crow, or simply don't care who kind of ass he is as long as they make a few sales. I, for one, simply decided I didn't even want to be associated in any way, shape or form with this Boinktard, as it reflected poorly on me and my choice of venues, which, in turn, caused me to lose credibility with my customers. Not good. Your point about control is spot on. Ray has a 10-ton delete finger that will activate on the slightest provocation. He throws dry bones to the hungry and watches in sadistic delight as they try to knaw them to suck out an ounce of marrow. He is King of his sandbox, and is given to temper tantrums when he doesn't get his way. He expects blind obedience based on faith alone. None of us here want the sellers to suffer, but they are. Some are so drugged, they don't feel it. Others feel it, but the holes they have dug for themselves are deep and the sides are steep. And still others are new to this game and have no clue how the world SHOULD appear -- kinda like being born with severe myopia. The whole show is painful to watch from the sidelines. My prediction? KaRay's grandiose Grand Opening hype will give some of those in the holes renewed energy to struggle out of their traps. The lying boiktard has cried "wolf" one too many times for these folks, and they don't buy the BS any more. The same ones who don't give a wombat poo poo as long as they can make a sale here and there will keep on keeping on. The myopic ones will continue to struggle in the fog, and KaRay will do everything he/she can to segregate them from any information that might lead them to "sight-restoration" practitioners. And the drugged will just grovel for more Koolaid. Eventually, the drugged Poppers will be rendered comatose and useless; those suffering from myopia will somehow get introduced to an opthomologist; and those that don't give a wombat poo poo will still be around until the sales totally dry up after which they will quietly move on. Ray's only hope is that he can hang on long enough to get a new batch of pie-eyed, disillusioned sellers grasping at straws and looking for salvation. Where he'll get fresh recruits is a mystery. None of us will ever go back, and many who've never had the thrill of being a Popper have been forewarned and are not likely to jump onto a sinking ship -- especially now with so many alternative venues to chose. He may get lucky at the next eBay fee hike, but eBay is on to him and his spamalots. The fact that some sellers have actually LEFT on the Grand Opening Gala Celebratory day (not to be replaced) says much about the future of WP, and it isn't pretty. Many sellers left after the nonexistant holiday rush where all were expecting big things, and many more will leave when they realize that NOTHING has materialized from the big "marketing BS blitz". At some point KaRay will deplete the supply of dry bones, a fat lady will come to expose the scammer behind the curtain and then she'll start singing "O Solo Mio." |

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
minis it is infuriating isn't it. I started moving things out of my store before any mention of a Grand Opening because the atmosphere at WP was just beginning to feel CREEPY! I am hoping to have everything done in the next few days and I can kiss this nightmare goodbye. I truly feel sorry for the sellers that just aren't getting it. I just makes me sick that some of these people were sitting in front of their computers yesterday waiting for wonderful things to happen. I wonder what it will take to get through to them. Aren't they curious how on earth someone is paying for TV advertising with just 328 stores and dropping? It just makes me SIGH.
HELP WANTED: Hard working copy and paste artist to come and help me remove my listings from Wagglepop. I will feed you and supply beverages. I promise NO CROW or KOOLAID! |

Just hope they have all their listings backed up. Copy and pasting...yuck! I could not even get my 13 yo daughter to help. I am glad Im done with that! That is the most boring, time consuming thing to have to do. |

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Grand Opening Day I had 2 visitors in my WP store! Wow! I am thinking this month may show few enough sales to convince my partner to close the doors. If my new venue would do as well as my other venue, I am sure I could convince her to forget about WP. So far, I have a lot of looks, but not as many sales. But, it is still promising. Right now three venues is all I can handle, so I need to get both of my others going well. Maybe then I can convince her to close WP and try something else. At this time, I sell on yahoo, ecrater, and wagglepop. Anyone have a good suggestion to replace wagglepop? I would not mind another paying venue as long as it is busy. I know many have recommended amazon for media, but do the other things sell well there? I rely on internet income as a part time job, so I really need somewhere that has decent sales. I have begun doing very well on yahoo. Ecrater is picking up, but not there yet.

sorry to hear it witheyes.
I usually run an auction on eBay to direct traffic to my other sites. I like eCrater as practice for opening my own site one of these years. It all depends on what you sell.

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Hey witheyes ~ I think Fine is right, it depends on what you sell. I sell on eCrater, eBay and my own sites. I'd be interested to know how Amazon does in other categories as well.
Well, I cracked the mystery of the WP marketing bonanza. They bought Google AdWords lmao. I'm not kidding. Interestingly enough, I could only find them by searching for "Wagglepop" not online auction, not auction site or anything else I searched for, for that matter. I guess their monthly spend limit is $9.95 and therefore couldn't afford the click cost for ads that might actually bring traffic. Some Popper actually mentioned it (like it's something profound) while another Popper is having difficulty grasping why Wagglepop isn't doing more to get the word out. Good to know your $9.95 per month is being squandered on pay-per-click advertising. I would expect a bit more from an eBay contender. Oh wait, there's a LIMITED (very limited according to Karen) TV ad... I can hardly wait. Edited because, well, no excuses, I'm a dork today

Hi myo,
You chose all the right words: infuriating, creepy, and, nightmare. Those words totally describe the wp experience. Copying and pasting is so frustrating - seems like it will never end. Hang in there. Each listing you complete will get you closer to the exit door. Sending you my best wishes for a speedy departure! |
