Retaliation is the only reason to threaten collection when the customer is trying to pay you -especially when the collection costs will be greater than the balance due.

There was a thread on the WP boards today "why isn't Wagglepop on the AuctionBytes survey?".

The answer to that question was given by AuctionBytes co-owner David Steiner in a May 19th blog article (and we follow a similar policy on our auction site traffic rankings chart):

our policy has been to always verify the WhoIs registration information and search for the registrant's name to look for any signs of trouble. If a business won't reveal their identity, we won't write about it.

As Cash can tell you I was pretty upset by the back and forth with the evil Karen and the  Karen.  My hubby said, Pay them and get them off your back, so I did.  :'(  Of course, then I got the  Karen wishing me luck in the future!

Thank you all for the great support on this one, I am just floored at how mean, awful and down right rude this guy can be.  Vital please be careful over there, you too Cash.

Ok, don't you think that if a payment has been cancelled on you once that you would quickly claim it??  I am really tempted to cancel the payment again and use all the great lines all of you have provided....You know I don't think they have my address,

Let it just lie, and don't fret.  So what if it sits there?  It's not been claimed instantly on purpose, just to annoy you.  Remember:  Only as the *staff* has time.  You're dealing with RR here, you know.

Now you understand how most of us on this board feel about Ray Romeo and Wagglepop, and why we have total distrust in the creep.  It would be really nice for thousands of sellers if there were a good alternative to feebay, but it ain't gonna happen with this bloke....

He could easily fix that and receive (the possibility of) free publicity in AuctionBytes but instead he chooses to hurt both himself and the sellers on his site by using private WHOIS.  WP's WHOIS data was public until earlier this year when he decided to hide it before reopening.

Exactly.  There have been a few sellers on the eBay boards who've complained about similar things happening when they closed their store. 

All that time that was spent emailing you back and forth, when it was apparantly so difficult fo "staff" the acceptance of a payment.  And why they would want you to send them a receipt is beyond me.

Even if there were no reason for concern, the fact is, the guy is an unethical, nutnob.
Do you not care if he cheats, lies, etc.? 
Personally, I would not ever want to be associated with him or any company that he has an interest in.
