Well, this is one time I certainly agree with Belle.  However, since Vital is forging ahead with participating in the bumpy WP ride,  Smile  her reports should provide the rest of us with some curious masochistic entertainment...  ; Big Grin

On the .... umm ... possibility of a bright side?  I know, I know ... but there was a time when it didn't matter that Meg was a jerk because I was making money on her site, so technically speaking, except for the "scary stuff" (which this recent event qualifies as), I'm not too worried about the Jekyll/Hyde thing.  Ok, so yes I am because it can take down the entire site.  But on the third or fourth hand (whatever I'm up to now), it hasn't done that yet.  It's only continued to grow.

If only the poppers could see me now, acting so pea-poppin positive.  Big Grin

Even if there were no reason for concern, the fact is, the guy is an unethical, nutnob.
Do you not care if he cheats, lies, etc.?
Personally, I would not ever want to be associated with him or any company that he has an interest in.

Ditto. This latest information really convinces me that I am lucky that I never got around to listing there. Thanks for sharing sweet girl.

You are welcome Bell.  Smile
I needed to share because it was important that everyone see what kind of emails I was getting.

Vital, what is happening on the boards, I never signed back up to look because I had no desire to go back.
Good bye all

Quote:supporting wp was, in a sense "doing my duty" to take business away from ebay.

It doesn't improve anything if the person being supported (Ray) acts like eBay.  Our way of taking business away from eBay was to take our $1500 in monthly fees (in 2003) and concentrate on our own websites.

There have been many "WPs" in the past, like Carnaby and BidBay which had millions of listings, and hundreds of small auction sites, and they turned out to be wastes of time for most sellers--very few sales for the average seller.  The sellers who concentrated on the small alternative auction sites 3-4 years ago landed back at eBay--the sellers who concentrated on their own websites did much better.

Develop your own web store and give it time to grow and you'll stop questioning.  Smile

As I have said before I am in a position to list on ebay because of my consignment sales.    Smileyyellowbang

Ebay sales have been hurt by all the talk about the fees and the amount of good sellers pulling out.  Two weeks ago I had 30 auctions going and sold 25 of the items most with multiple bids, this week I had 25 items and only 8 items sold and almost all were 1 bid sales.

I am in a position right now of telling the gentleman I consign for that we are in a money losing position and it is time to stop listing for a while until I can find a feasible marketplace for his items.

I have an ecrater store and have put some of his unsold items over there and have received hits on all of them, no sales yet.  I am not in a position to start my own site at this time.

That's too bad because I know of a web host who is more than reasonable in their prices and they even put up with me.  Big Grin

Like me, maybe, but definitely NOT me. I can't even get the website going.  Tongue3 I am a  Tard

Laughing7 They are very nice and they are known to hang out here from time to time.  Wink

As for ME being thoughtful, kind and nice, you have no idea how many people would disagree with that thought.  Toothy9
