Some of those fools have even said they would hang through 3 year's of losses at WP or invest $thousands to purchase a piece of the bunny bullet pie. [/quote] Alskling I don't believe anyone said they would stay 3 years. |

RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Trust me, there WERE members on the board who publically stated they would stay as long as it takes - 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, whatever. It's a fact.
Also, my most recent calculations show that 14% of the total listings there are concentrated in 6 of the top listing stores, or .07% (less than1%) of the total store number. These are all in nearly identical categories: sports cards, books, post cards and magazine ads. I've also been told that Ray had stores at eBay in these categories. Coincidence? Oh, new board thread over there: Seller: Well, I have gone "bankrupt". I will closing my store. I probably will still list some of my great finds, but Personal finaces just don't call for me to spend $9.95 a month right now and I am not really making that, So my "store" is going but I will still be around with a few listings here and there...It is just going to suck to loose the feedbacks that I have.... Member response: Is there any other niche you can incorporate with little investment, perhaps gently used items, which would at least pay the store fees? Member response: Do you ship to Canada? If so I want to purchase from you and perhaps you can stay on WP for awhile longer because things are going to be picking up I can tell you the hits I'm getting on the website is great. Member response: I notice that you have a lot of bath gels and soaps and what not..your bath soaps and gels seem to me to be vey high compared to some others I have looked at. Re evaluate your prices on your items and lower them (not all of them) but say maybe you can run a special on your soap for like a month and lower the price and announce it as a sale item. The baseball with the Yogi Berra Signature would have been auctioned off at (u know where) a long time ago. Also, you don't say what the name of the bath gels and soap you are selling. If WP would allow it, I could pay your fees for this month for sure. Member response: A lot of what the others are saying is true. I know you must do whatever you have to do but you may be giving up too soon. I think some of the sellers did. Last night I went looking for some items I had in mind to purchase and the stores were no longer here. A couple of them were still here a few days ago when I last checked. Anyway needless to say I didn't purchase anything last night. I will be resuming my search today as I am trying to do some Christmas shopping. I think that after Oct 1 a lot of people start to seriously think of that. Also I did look at your store last night I would say most of your items were reasonable but as (a previous poster) said some were rather high like the soaps and lotions also being in jewelry myself I can tell you the prices you had on those items was high also. A retail store may get that price for them but online in a venue of this type people are looking for a bargain and those will be a hard sell for you. Member response: Do you have ten small items you can sell for under $5.00? We could all buy one and keep you going for this month. DON'T YOU JUST LOVE IT WHEN IT'S ALL THE SELLER'S FAULT WHEN ITEMS DON'T SELL AND MEMBERS LITERALLY BRIBE A SELLER TO STAY? |

RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
I sure hope that seller goes thru with her plan to close and get OUT of there. If you can't afford to throw away $10 or more a month in the first place, you have no business trying to sell online at ALL.
One of two things happening: 1 - Fellow wp sellers are desperate to keep other sellers there to maintain the variety that attracts/keeps buyers, and will do or say anything to legitimize their own presence at that venue. 2- These particular wp posters are nothing more than smooth-talking vultures, zooming in to grab the pickings at a dirt cheap price. Either scenario is not a pleasant one. |

Quote:AND, here's another kicker. You have 3 stores making it appear as if WP has a gazillion listings. Who does this figure impress? Since buyers are not coming, it must be to impress sellers, making them think WP is growing when in fact it isnt. BINGO. He cares about LOOKING professional. Just like he did when he lied about being the head of a college IT department. Just like he did when he lied about having a team of programmers who were building the backend as pre-Wagglepoppers fed him their needs.

WP just gets more and more bizarre.
Ray should give Marty a call. He may be able to provide some more whacked pointers. |

RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Know what's funny? If Ray had half as much brains as ego, he'd wrap that site up and sell it. Yes, someone would pay for it...there were a few people who wanted to buy it after the first go 'round. If I remember rightly, he had it up on eBay for a couple/few days.
Things have changed a lot since WP's first opening. It's absurd to pay for a store, especially if you're doing all the marketing yourself. I don't understand the mindset. If the local grocery had a table of bread for $1.00 a loaf and a table next to it with identical bread for Free, what would be the advantage of paying for the bread?? There are free stores online, keep your $10.00 and spend it on marketing...you'll get a lot more for your money. OMG, thentavius, some of the lies were outrageous, weren't they? It was beyond insane. We could put ANY number in for the credit card verification at WP's "highly secure" site...he was supposedly the recipient of a box of dog sh!t delivered via the USPS...the site had been "in the making" for a couple of years, yet, with an entire IT department working on it, it was out of the box software that, for the last two days, didn't even have a footer....iiiiiccccckkkkkk!!!!! I don't wanna' think about this anymore!! Those who've been warned and remain committed to WP are not going to be pleased with the results of their decision. But it's their life, their business and their credibility on the line. Meanwhile, I had a $40.00 sale at eCrater this week, and it didn't cost me a penny...makes me feel both smarter and richer! :jrcat: |

Many years of work... produced a boxed auction script. Woweee. Amazing workmanship. And the customer database was deleted completely, remember? Because Ray was "done." 'member? 'member? He must have a great memory to recall all of those email addies he deleted, to send out the grand reopening mail.
