http://www.wpssu.com/ You need to see this site. The Poppers are paying to be featured on this site. Their $10.00 monthly fees to list items that don't generate traffic or sales has just increased! They are paying for the exposure on this site as well.
I'm too lazy to log out and log back in with my BBH ID. sneakymagenta mentioned how bad that site was a few pages back. It's the site owned by the Popper who took a week off to learn web design. :blinkie: Alexa traffic rank: not even in the top 5 million. Yep, they'll be getting tons of exposure for their "donation" Crappy link pages like that never work because there is absolutely no reason for a buyer to visit them. 99% of the traffic that mini mall sites like that receive is from sellers. From the domain WHOIS records "You get *FREE* DOMAIN REGISTRATION for life when you host with BlueHost.Com." |

They will probably claim they get more hits than ebay express too. 8)
If it wasn't so very sad it would be funny. OK it is funny. When I first looked at the name I thought it said wassup (what's up?) :blinkie: |

Quote:Radio spots are written :blinkie:
You think that's funny...I read a press release this week for the launch of yet another generic $200 phpProBid auction site (the same script HiBidder uses). The site has a whopping 200 listings. :blinkie: The press release said the site is a serious eBay contender and they're planning a NATIONAL TV AD CAMPAIGN. Uh, yeah, National TV and the only change they made to the default install of the script was to slap a bad logo on the top. |

RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
The WPSSU was started by a cheerleader some time ago. The thread is under the "Seller" Board of the WP forum called Wagglep*p Sellers Unite and explains his grand plan with a diagram that looks like some kind of pyramid scheme that I can't reproduce here. Poppers pay for advertising plus a monthly fee to be on the site. I wonder who's actually getting the fees? These misguided followers are so loyal they'll pay anything for the privilege of calling themselves Poppers. Again, what kind of business sense does that make?
The WPSSU-creator's post: 02 Sep 2006 16:55 My goal is to have Wp create a link/portal into itself through a group of stores, similar to the mini mall concept but with WP providing the support. A few questions before we can go any further. 1)Would you be willing to pay say 2$ more a month for this privilege 2)Would you be willing to contribute to the advertising campaign 3)Would you be willing to help draft bylaws and such. 4)Are you willing to stay the course here and self promote WP aggresivly? Here's his original post: 31 Aug 2006 18:12 My name is Sam, I and many others have defected from feepay. Some of us are united through a thread started on feepay. Our desire is to aggressively promote WP. We hope to form a coalition of store's aptly named " circle of stores" I have been in contact with Karen and her kindness is appreciated! With that said she awaits a draft of the concept I have afformentioned. We are working on that now and would like to invite those who would like to participate to post there user id and store names here, Here is the concept. There are still alot of details ok a ton! But it is a concept. Karen I guess this is a rough draft. If you think this is worthy to consider e-me and we will pursue it, Thank you all for your kind consideration and objective criticism I hope will follow, |

New Karen/Ray post:
Quote:Hello Members, A few of the sellers wanted to use Auctiva and Inkfrog w/ WP. My understanding is that both of these sites have absolutely refused to do business with Ray, indicating that if/until he proves his site is viable they want nothing to do with it. :popcorneaters: |

RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Quote:until he proves his site is viable they want nothing to do with it. Viable to a major solutions provider doesn't mean shaky finances, 160K listings, and a miniscule membership of 7,000-8,000. There is no financial incentive for a solutions provider to invest in the development of support for a site like WP because it's unlikely they will ever recoup their investment which is why the major solutions providers only support multi-million dollar mega companies like eBay, Amazon, Yahoo, Overstock. Channel Advisor and Infopia finally added support for uBid recently, but uBid is a site with $20 million plus revenues and 4 million plus members...compare those numbers to WP. A few months ago someone asked Karen Ray if WP would support Marketworks and he/she/it answered The best approach would be to contact the provider directly, and express interest . Umm, get a clue Karen Ray, WP sellers expressing interest isn't going to make MW add support for WP. Even if everyone expressing interest was a PeSA member it would be unlikely they'd add support. Smaller sites just don't generate the revenues to justify the development costs. Even a site like Yahoo is unlikely to justify the costs which is why most solution providers don't support it (or Bidville, etc). Marketworks added support for Yahoo in 2000 and someone at MW told me in 2004 that they had yet to recoup their costs...and yet Karen Ray can sit there with a straight face and tell a member support for WP is a possibility? :
"Well, Jay was so giddy that someone named Jay was involved with this site we posted our first non-eBay listing in 3 years here at Lunarbid (we tried two items at Yahoo once upon a time, they bombed)" -Marie posting in a LunarBid thread at OTWA in 2005 wins the award for 'most moronic reason ever given for choosing a venue"
"thanks twat u must have nothing better 2 do. do u talk to all your members like that. will not be recomending your site. best way to put it is TULIPTOOLS.COM IS REALLY SHIT. DONT JOIN." -pubescent owner of rinky dink off2auction.com in 2011 |
