RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Has anyone noticed that our dear friend Mr. Vulgar (Scott Bulger) is still strangely absent? Racedream, consider yourself lucky he apparently hasn't found your posts yet. This guy called me a thief, liar and attacked my business, my items and my character openly on the WP boards, while the whole crowd cheered him on and KaRay just allowed him to pick away. It wasn't until I requested an apology that Karen stepped in and gave ME a slap -- TWICE -- and then personally emailed me to say I would be banned from the boards if I did not behave like a good girl. That was the last straw. From then on, I asked every question that had been mulling in my head and eventually my FULLY PAID account was suspended. After suspension, I still received another invoice -- what nerve! After relating much of my story here, Mr. Vulgar came on the TT boards to proclaim his innocence, and said he would apologize if I could produce the posts in which he was so rude, insulting, and did, in fact, insinuate I am a liar and a thief. Well, one of the posters here did find those posts on WP and we haven't heard from him since. Maybe he's not posting any more cause he stuck his foot in his mouth too many times and has chewed his toes off.
This is the way WP does business. Smothering dissent. Banishing the curious. Making members feel small, insignificant and less worthy if they don't swallow the koolaid without question. Being rude and insulting to SERIOUS buyers and sellers who have an ounce of intelligence and are not given to groupthink. The thing is, I seriously DO want sellers to success and it truly pains me to see many good sellers waste their time, energy, and money and end up with nothing. And to make matters worse, the longer they hang on, the bigger the hole and the harder it is to climb out. It has taken me almost 2 months to undo it all, but it's behind and I can do what I can to take advantage of the holiday season the best I can, knowing it could have been better. My hat's off to you for not jumping in the fire before measuring the intensity of the flames. |

Recent WP poster states: Quote:For what it's worth, I have not sold one single item to a fellow popper. A view their feedback states: member since May. Feedback of 3 with 2 of those items being sold to another store owner. :-\ [/quote] Apparently her word is not worth anything. |

Alskling...I was one of the lucky ones that got to read every one of those posts before the got censored and pulled. I was going to jump in and defend you, but I have a laptop, my keyboard quit working and the keyboard I had didn't have the right plug to plug into my laptop. That is when I started doing my research....so I owe you a HUGE THANK YOU!!

WP POPPER idiot QUOTE:
Yes, it is only internal advertising. Using the restaurant theory, let's say I'm hungry. Up comes a whole page of great places to eat. BUT, at the top of the page is an ad for "Eat at Joe's" or whatever. That is going to catch my attention faster than finding Joe's listing at the bottom of the page, or on page 3, or wherever it is. Even if I had no intention of going there to start with, it plants the seed in my mind, so I check out Joe's. I know, not a great analogy, but hopefully you get the idea. The buyers are finding WP, so make yourself stand out. Don't just be the aveage Joe. But... don't they have to FIND the "Eat at Joe's" Banner in the first place?? This popper is missing the point... pity... |

RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Racedream -- I got a kick out of the restaurant analogy one Pooper gave for defending the AdSmart program and the "built it and they will come" WP philosophy. The kick I got is that it's B-O-G-U-S. McDonald's started with 3 things: a hamburger, french fries and coke and built an empire. If you've ever lived on the west coast (I'm a California gal), then you know of In'N'Out Burgers, a drive-thru which still only has hamburgers, french fries, Cokes and shakes, and that's ALL for the past 50 years, and the lines to them are down the driveway and in the street for every one, 24/7. If WP had a million listings and they were still all trading cards, books and beads, I doubt there would be any more buyers. What business school did Ray go to? Oh, yeah, some community college where he studied something related to computers. As far as AdSmart is concerned, the whole program is just another form of "preaching to the choir" and paying the minister to do it.

Quote:If WP had a million listings and they were still all trading cards, books and beads, I doubt there would be any more buyers. A million listings like Bidville which is 75% sports cards and has no buyers and no traffic? It's rather ironic that WP 2's listings are so heavily concentrated in those categories because during WP 1 Ray repeatedly cited Bidville as an example of a site that was buyer unfriendly--one of the reasons he gave was that it offered little for the average general auction site buyer beyond cheap sports cards. |

RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
OK just read the thread on Adsmart,
Sounds like the dissent is growing. Just like with WP1 Ray often used stalling tactics for changes requested by poppers either because the software program won't allow it, or he won't pay the money to reconfigure it. I also have noticed for quite some time that he keeps referring to mid 07 for major changes and other BS to happen. I keep asking myself what is going to be happening say June 07. Then I remembered a thread on the SB on ebay about the actual effects of both fee hikes, store closures, and another anticipated fee-hike would become apparent in June of 07. Since Ray relies heavily on disgruntled ebay sellers to join WP, I wonder if he is banking on increasing his enrollment, and bank roll in June of next year, and stalling keeping the flowing until then. : |
