Quote:The site traffic numbers are a direct reflection on some of the more organic measures we've implemented, with great success. Huh, interesting. I have to be honest, I have yet to see Wagglepop appear in organic results. Now, I use Google almost exclusively. Maybe that's another thing buyers need - to use a specific search engine to see results for WP. As far as Froogle results, big deal. Yes, its worthwhile, and I get a lot of hits from there as well. But it certainly isn't rocket science or some non-conventional method of advertising - anybody with a site SHOULD be doing this anyway. You're right, Truth. I firmly believe there are NO plans for advertising. At least until this point. I have a feeling if they're not doing something by Spring, even the loudest of cheerleaders are going to be closing up shop.

Quote:The site traffic numbers are a direct reflection on some of the more organic measures we've implemented, with great success Karen/Ray used to like to brag about their Alexa traffic numbers and to me it looks like they peaked in mid-October and have been sliding ever since. Interesting traffic stat for Ray: 1-week Alexa traffic: EX-WPers (TT.com) 38,972, CURRENT WPers (WP.com) 43,812 Yeah, your site traffic numbers really are a direct reflection of something Ray...the fact that you're an mileyazwipe: and are very good at driving away sellers.

Orus, that took lots of courage to post that. You didn't have to tell us all of that, but you had the guts to do it.
I had a jaw dropping moment and said Holy Shi! when I figured out exactly which popper from Pop Land you were. I wondered what happened to you! I remember the Barbee auction. I was a newer member then. I wasn't a seller, just a buyer. But more than that, I was a watcher....watching and waiting to see how the site would do. And I'm still a watcher. But I'm also on Pop Land's watch list for asking questions and stating facts that they want to hide under the rug.

I have a feeling if they're not doing something by Spring, even the loudest of cheerleaders are going to be closing up shop. [/quote] After reading the old thread on OTWA regarding WP1 it was obvious that Ray believed that by simply feeding to froogle, and hyping SEO that this was the advertising/marketing plan. Now the rscript software has the feature that feeds to froogle. Ray also believes that the use of spamming everywhere online would also be not only permissible it was encouraged. Fast forward to WP2 the game plan is the same. Ray will never advertise WP, he will not spend one dime from the click click click. His goals for WP are simple, recruit sellers who open stores, sign up for adsmart, kick back and rake in the money. WP is a cheap badly copied Ebay wannabe site, it offers absolutely nothing new, or unique and has zero chance of success. He expects the sellers to do all the work, list like crazy, or have 1 item in your store he doesn't give a crap. As long as you open a store its all good. Even with the current store count the amount of monthly revenue he receives is quite a bit. He has already bought and paid off both the rscript software and adsmart software. He has no staff, so what are his operating expenses? Minimal. The rest is all profit. |

It is very easy to get caught up in the hype of the next best thing especially when you are vulnerable. Now most people are particularly vulnerable especially when it involves your money. The next thing you know it becomes a matter of defending the choice you made because by that time you have invested something, time, money, labor etc... Read my siggy. ORUS telling your story is wonderful therapy. The barbie deal, well I didn't follow it closely, nor did I think oh look at that nonsense. I am a little slow sometimes, my thought was actually wow how clever of that person, too bad they are wasting it on WP. ORUS you and I are both on the same journey in terms of this technology stuff, learning by the seat of our pants. Remember knowledge is power. |

RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
Quote:Now for the apologies...I don't want to say her name...but the sidekick to the princess...you know who you are...I said some horrible things about you back then because... well...you made me want to hurl every time you posted. I would actually skip every post you'd make just so I wouldn't feel sick to my stomach. You were too...cheerleaderish....it was like...you honestly thought everyone loved you. And a bunch of us hated seeing your posts. I'm not saying this to be mean. I'm just not hiding anything anymore. Now on this site, you seem pretty much ok. But I am sorry for hating you as much as I did. Now how pathetic is that? I actually hated someone online that I have never met and never had any dealings with in real life? WOW!! That would be me... Well, I appreciate it although it isn't necessary. I know why I attacked you about the Barbie auction that day now but at the time, I thought it was for a different reason. I thought it was because it was an embarassment to WP. I thought it put WP in a bad light. NOW, I know that it was because I was already starting to question WP's integrity as a site and wondering why they didn't chime in on that thread to say that they didn't stand behind it. There lack of a comment told me that they condoned it. NOT that it was right or wrong, just that it was... I hope that makes sense. I think that we were all just so MAD at eBay for the changes that we may have directed our anger in strange ways... you with the auction and me for yelling at you for it... Also, I didn't know I was so despised. I didn't think everyone loved me but if there was a problem, I didn't know about it. I just posted my opinion and YES I was a cheerleader {{{hangs head }}} until I came to my senses. Now... I am just me. I will never again fall into that trap and act that way. I'm glad that you're here... I've seen your posts and you have a lot to contribute. I'm sorry to if I made you feel embarassed. At the time, it was pretty intense but in retrospect... I am truly sorry too. Just to get one thing straight tho... the Princess was NOT my sidekick... anything BUT!! She and I minced words thru PM's several times as her original store name was stolen from me.... then she changed it to something else when I called her on it. She follows the crowd and changes her mind incessantly (sometimes even on the same thread!!!!) and I never even responded to her! She used to make me crazy! If she says something is white and someone else says it's blue... she'll say "Oh yeah, I meant blue!" ARGH!!! I hope to get to know you better and maybe we can work together to let some of the others see the light! |

RE: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
ORUS -
You know you have nothing to be ashamed of. All of us ex-poppers were so bright eyed with excitement and too much that I don't think there is one person who can honestly say that they didn't post something on the boards that they wish they could take back now. Maybe we were all blinded by each other's pom poms. Maybe we were all just to pissed at Greedbay. Maybe we all just didn't do enough research. We all had a reason to support WP the way that we did. I am just thankful that we all got out before we lost our pants. I, personally, respect each and every one of the ex-poppers for coming here and sharing their experience. We all learn from one another and I think we all have a new respect for each other as sellers (and buyers). I hope that any feelings I may have hurt are healing now. Even those who don't post, but just read. We have all been humbled by this experience in one way or another. Without humility, there is no grace.
I hate stupid people!

I feel very "duped" by WP and hate to see others being taken advantage of... that's why I'm here and I plan to stick around to see what happens next!! |
