Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
From the ebay thread. I added the bolding.
Quote:Listings and sales are up on WP. I'm working on store 1 and 2 there and looking at opening number 3. International sales, option for Google checkout, giant advertising and marketing campaign rolling out soon, and a whole score of other stuff including a member consulting board, mentor board, etc. Giant???? From Karens announcement. Quote:While I cannot discuss precise details of our internal marketing strategy, I can relate in generalities that it will use elements from targeted search engine paid placement, strategic text and banner ads, and some conventional print advertising. The advertising is hardly giant. some Google adwords banner and text advertisements on unspecified websites advertisements in unspecified print media

Eclectica- your best bud PS upgraded her store to showcase. Also go check out the ebay store board thread http://forums.ebay.com/db2/thread.jspa?t...1000321852&start=560 [/quote] It looks like Ebay finally pulled the thread. Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
WAGGLEFACT OF THE DAY
The downward spiral.
11/16/06 Store count = 706 12/16/06 Store count = 618 loss of 88 stores or 12.5% drop in the store count. The store and listing count has continued to drop and the pace has increased dramatically since 12/1/06. Why: With the holiday shopping season in full swing at the beginning of December & end of November sellers realized what a mistake they had made. The fact is there was no holiday shopping season for sellers on WP and Rays #s prove it. Every time he fails to take the time to rewrite the newsletter or WP today he looks like an idiot. Anyone who doesnt see the fact that all #s show a growth stoppage is an idiot (cheerleaders). The store count is even further down from November 1st as well as the listing counts. Reason being the drop in sellers and not because of the bogus sales figures. I also agree that there will be an even further drop in store sellers before the 1st of the year due to the loss those sellers have endured. What I dont get is why some sellers feel compelled to open more than one store account on WP. Some sellers have 3 or more stores and for what reason. Is there a deal of some sort maybe ½ off the 2nd store and a free third store? It has never occurred to me to pay double the fees to lose double the money in all my years of selling. I could see doing this on a site where there are no fees but to pay twice for a loss is beyond me. let the truth be told u1it4less - "it's all in the name.." X-POP NATION, A real seller's network |

I could see doing this on a site where there are no fees but to pay twice for a loss is beyond me.I never got this either. My math goes like this: 1 times zero is zero. 100 times zero is still zero. Multiplying efforts does not multiply sales when there is no multiplier. DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Opening 100 stores in Antaractica that sells freezers to polar bears will not increase sales over opening one. It only puts you further in debt. But then, any Popper who sticks around after the end of the year is truly living along a river in Egypt (if you know what I mean), anyway. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- RE: The thread on eBay. Yep, I got a few licks in before eBay pulled the plug. I don't think it was my posts that did it. I was spamming no site, gave no names, only spoke facts that are already open, public knowledge and offered suggestions. I think it was the spamming Poppers who finally brought the thread to rest. Just as well. Unless they try to change topic on an already existing thread, they'll have to start a new one to spam, and eBay's on to them. |

I wonder if this will be deleted. Since its now against policy to announce your leaving or mention store closings in the store forum on WP, is it ok to discuss sellers that have closed their store?

E.g. Im sorry if this may sound a bit negative, and I hope nobody gets angry and comes down on me for it, but I was just kinda, maybe wondering about something . . . . or, Oh, please, please dont run away from the flock. We love you we need you without you, well be so sad . . . or OK, if youre going then good-riddins. Youre not good enough for us, anyway, I cant believe youre going back to E-something. Are you crazy? And after all we did for you. . . |

So, I think your right that it was their new spamming that ultimately killed the thread. Either way, I am glad thats it gone. Poppers may start screaming that Ebay censors, but try promoting other auction sites on WP in the forums. I am pretty sure it would be pulled quickly. edit: geez my posts sound grouchy before I had my morning coffee

I had emailed Rayvagina a bunch of times for directions to close as I could not understand that I could not just CLICK and CLOSE. Had to remove all listings ..pay WP any monies due...send copy of payment to WP to prove I had paid...then Kayvag would do it internally...what 'BAD BUSSINESS ETHICS"....and so Obvious whats behind it. "gimme your money"... Anyway...as an "experienced seller"..(and now after WP...still EVER LEARNING what not to do" I would have kept my store open until after the holiday's for...I I was to test that site for sales then that would be the ultimate decider ...if still no sales would have promptly followed those hideous rules to close. My Prediction. I think....that a lot of WP sellers mabye be thinking the same way regarding their stores and I predict a major slump in store closings this next coupla weeks. The cult followers will stay a little longer. and Rayvagina will replace those fuzzy slippers for a solid pair of "runnin sneakers" for he/she will sure need them. edited for bad grammer&sp!.... and i need some coffee also |
