Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
We must take a break from our regularly scheduled chatfest for this important Special Report:
Excitement is in the air over at Wagglepop as sellers receive news of the latest E-Bay hike. One happer popper said Quote:That sure does make this site look good. So far what I see is complaints of horrible sell through there, which is the real reason for sellers to be mad. I used to list 300 fixed price every week there through Dec 2005, and had about 60% sell through... Over the last year, I dropped to just 30% sell through on the exact same type of product I sell now on WP. If I was still hanging in there, that would be enough for me to leave. This reporter thinks they need an optometrist over at WP, they definitely don't need more Quote:Good for us! A forum I'm on the sellers are fuming. You can bet I'm plugging WP They seem to have plenty of sellers over there now. This reporter remembers poppers distinct declarations of never encouraging spamming of sites. Another seller is glad to see those fee hikes. Quote:Just watch the store # go up now. Call them refugees and other names and there may be a revolt concerning name calling. Quote:They are really trying to hang themselves. Since i closed my store over there, i ONLY list when they have a sale. I'm sure i am not the only one and pretty soon thats what it will come down to. I have told a few people i bought from to consider wagglepop. Unfortunetly the items i was looking for were not listed here. Hopefully those sellers will come by and take a look and fill up some of the empty catagories. KaRay should step in at any moment to correct spelling and grammar mistakes to make this post presentable. They might also edit content to read that all categories are full. To wrap this story up, poppers are actively sending Quote:I thought i'd celebrate the fee hike by shooting a couple of 100 emails from here to my past customers and low & behold made a couple of sales already. although they have denied that it happens repeatedly. Categories are not full and WP has now run afoul of many forums and boards. Back to our regularly scheduled chat fest. :mgoodnews:

Sweet, sending you hugs. You will feel much better after you heal up from the surgery. Instead of greasy fries sending you into unbearable pain, you will once again experience the pleasures of fatty foods. When mama is happy everybody is happy. >
I am not surprised that the level of glee about the fee hikes has hit the WP radar. This is so sad, because the fee hikes are so predictable and so is the reaction of the "we're gonna get you Ebay" thinking of sellers. I don't like Ebay, but not because I feel jilted by a lover. Ebay represents the out of control corporate greed that is running amok both online and offline. Set aside the we will get even BS, and take a breath. Use Ebay(and other auction venues) to aquire customers, and establish a brand presence online. I saw sellers on ebay boards doing the same things, lets get Google to start a site, lets boycott, it's only a nickel, etc... These are the exact same reactions and plans as the last go round. I don't expect a big influx of newbies going to WP this time. One of the things that was different on the ebay boards was many sellers said we are not surprised by the fee hike, we all knew it was coming, it won't be the last, and most importantly these sellers had already begun the process of starting a website or had been downsizing their presence on ebay for the last 6 months. The fee hike in July was a surprise, and it sent a shockwave of sellers who fled the site to st. elsewheres. I don't see it happening at this level again. |

You go Platzki!
I just figured out how it works. Now I can click "good post" and "bad post". Not that I would do that randomly (just so no one gets the wrong idea here!)

Re: Wagglepop 2: Deja Vu as Auction Site That Left Sellers Stranded Reopens
OMG! It's sounds like a cleverly, all-encompassing, orchestrated effort on Poppers to undermine the strength of eBay and bring it down by spamming their brains out, hog-tying sellers, and luring them into the Popper camp with promises of gold, frankinsence and myrh along with an endless supply of Kumbayatic koolaid. Maybe with all the lurking here, they've learned all our well-kept secrets on how to run an effective conspiracy. (Now just watch somebody take that tongue-in-cheek paragraph out of context)
Hey, but just think, the bigger the hype and cotton-candy promises, the bigger the disappointment when nothing materializes and greater the piss-off when X-poppers discover us and come over to share their horror stories, lick their wounds and seek a little comfort. In the meantime, Ray better get the vultures circling the camp before another FREE and more productive site grabs the spoils. The one who bags the most, gets a year's supply of Koolaid, free of charge. Edit: Hey Chiquita, you're beating me up in the Karma department. Am I being punished because I'm not the rhymin-Simon you are? |

I am ahead because I keep posting funny stories in the bad jokes atrium. I just can't resist. Hey if all of us parody song writers got karma points for that we would have already obtained Nirvana, or enlightenment, or at least have magic powers by now. |
