Collectibles site Delcampe.com adds Moneybookers powered E-Wallet
www.Delcampe.com has added an e-wallet service for payments.

Delcampe currently has 138,000 members and 6.5 million listings.  The US site has 113,000 listings. (source: http://www.delcampe.com/page/main/language,E.html#stats )

Quote:Online auction site Delcampe has teamed up with payment service MoneyBookers to create "E-Wallet" to help members facilitate trading domestically and internationally...

Delcampe's E-Wallet accounts are free, and there is no charge for buyers to send payment. Sellers receiving money through MoneyBookers pay a 2% commission fee. There are extra fees depending on payment method and currency conversion.

It works when an item is purchased on Delcampe. Sellers can send an automatic invoice by email with all the details and fees for the items concerned; the buyer clicks on "pay seller with Electronic Wallet." This link comes along with the automatic invoice sent by the seller. He or she checks the information and confirms payment. At that point, the seller is notified by email about the payment and can send the items...

Review of Niche Postcard Auction Sites Delcampe and Playle
A review of niche postcard auction sites Delcampe and Playle:

Quote:eBay is still the center of the online postcard selling business in the United States due to name recognition, but it is losing ground as collectors and dealers explore their options. Playle's and Delcampe are both viable alternatives to eBay for buying and selling postcards (and other ephemera and collectibles)...

Playle and Delcampe are a breath of fresh air to online postcard dealers with large inventories. Listings are more affordable to dealers, and hence the websites' postcard inventories are increasing, so much so that Delcampe, with 5,098,000 listings in July 2007, is by far the largest postcard site on the Internet. eBay is second with about 590,000 listings, and Playle's ranks third with about 100,0000 listings...
