Desperate to Boost its 2Q Numbers for Wall St eBay Resorts to Fraudulent Billing
eBay must me desperate to meet its quarterly numbers.
The billing system has suddenly--conveniently--developed a bug and customers are being charged for services they never used. eBay hasn't issued an announcement to alert customers to the overbilling, so just like 2004 only those customers who go over their bills with a fine tooth comb are likely to notice they were overbilled and ask for credits (eBay is promising to issue them credits after the bug is fixed--which will probably be after the end of the second quarter). http://forums.ebay.com/db2/thread.jspa?t...1000304529&tstart=0 http://forums.ebay.com/db2/thread.jspa?t...2000162241&tstart=0 http://forums.ebay.com/db2/thread.jspa?t...1000306893&tstart=0 http://forums.ebay.com/db2/thread.jspa?t...=410092573&start=5520 http://forums.ebay.com/db2/thread.jspa?t...2000161184&tstart=0 |

Re: Desperate to Boost its 2Q Numbers for Wall St eBay Resorts to Fraudulent Billing
it does make you wonder if it's on purpose. especially when you consider that they had a "special" for canadian sellers that involved getting the discount amount refunded after the end of the quarter, which allowed them to falsly inflate their sales figures for the quarter.
my thoughts on why they limited this 'special' to Canadian sellers (that was clearly solely for the false inflation of income for the quarter, why else would they issue the discount as a refund on the next quarter's books?) and didn't include the US sellers: was so that they wouldnt have as large of a refund chunk to issue the following quarter. If they would have included US sellers in that 'special', it would have meant there would be a lot bigger chunk to refund the following quarter, which would end up lowering their income for the following quarter more than they could compensate for. As it is, it appears theyre still desperately "compensating" for low income this quarter. |

Customers Allege Enron-esque Fraudulent Billings for Phantom Services by eBay
At least one eBay customer is claiming eBay has been charging its customers for months for services they never ordered.
Quote:I just discovered that ebay has overcharged me on this months bill with over 29 items. I am being overcharged for pictures and other features that I would never use. Unfortunately I don't look that close at my bill and have it on automatic payment with my cc. I got this bill and thought why the hell is it so high when I only ran a minimal amount of auctions and most items being store inventory. So I started the investigating and then I contacted live help who issued a credit for one item but told me it would take too long to do all and just contact ebay direct to get this resolved. I started to look back at all my other bills and found that this has been going on for MONTHS and I am mad....at ebay & myself for not watching closer. post #25: http://forums.ebay.com/db2/thread.jspa?t...1000304529&tstart=0 |

In a post the other day on the SB, I compared ebay to Enron. I immediately had 2 rabid cheerleaders on there, saying "How dare I" mention ebay and enron in the same breath. Do some people just like to get screwed? : |

Quote:Do some people just like to get screwed? Apparently so and some just have their heads so far up Megs backside that they can't see or hear anything other than what Meg is showing and telling them. Or some are stock holders and VERY concerned about their holdings shrinking value. Can you imagine if you bought 100 shares of ebay stock two years ago at $70.00 a share and have been sitting on it until now. If you decided to bail toady and sold it today at it's current $28.45 You would have lost what $4155.00? (someone check my math) Not to mention commissions and fees to you paid your broker and all. : So any "bad post" could piss them off me thinks. You are a VERY bad little girl Bell. Did you get your PINK SLAP for it yet?

Re: Desperate to Boost its 2Q Numbers for Wall St eBay Resorts to Fraudulent Billing
:xsmileybear: <--yes, I just posted on the eBay boards
There was a post today by someone who has been overbilled by $215 this month due to this "glitch". No announcement by eBay means 99% of people are unaware of the problem and won't bother to check their invoice details...those people will never receive a credit and so (echoes of 2004) eBay will get to book a lot of extra revenue.Â

"thanks twat u must have nothing better 2 do. do u talk to all your members like that. will not be recomending your site. best way to put it is TULIPTOOLS.COM IS REALLY SHIT. DONT JOIN." -pubescent owner of rinky dink off2auction.com in 2011 |
