Thanks, XPP. I had sort of found it already but then of course I realized that I had the spacing problem, too.  And then I remembered the "error on page" crap that has to be fixed. 

I'll get it! I swear I will. I remembered how to change the top to my own header; and I added a link to my existing site while I work on this one. AND I got rid of BBH's $88.00  that he stuck on my home page. So I am off and running.

oK you can do what I did or look again at your "other" mainpage.tpl.php file
(u know the "other" site)
Simply duplicate the top portion of code all the way down.

That's what I am going to do but in the morning. I don't want to eff it up when I am tired or frustrated. But I AM still working. Just doing something simple: categories.
