Cranky- Yes, you are getting pretty annoying with those drinking smilies. STOPPIT!!!
Bell - I had the same problem with censorship, but talka bout turning a minor PITA into a multi-page thread!!! GETOVERIT!!!
BowYamahaFlyKissesLady - Quit fighting about fighting!!! You are instigating and you know it!!!
Diger - Crawl back to your cat house. You messed up my thing with smilies and ads. I'd ban your IP if I knew how the dernd thing works!!!
Regi - TT, ECA, & GBB are all Forks of FAS, not spinoffs. Any respectable Sys Admin would know that!
Anita - You are wrong. There is no place else to go because everybody uses the same basic open source forums with the default settings.

You'se know what?  After reading just this far on this Thread, it makes me wonder why I offered for free, customized to the users likes and dislikes, www.sliique.com.

As a (long time) Admin on TWO warez Boards, as well as my own at one time, I can tell you'se, for what its worth, that Adminning right well isn't easy.  Even more so, when dealing with a worldwide community of various cultures, senses of decorum, senses of humor, etc.  The problem is, sometimes an Admin is selected and the powerful hammer of authority goes to their head.

I dunno if this is the case of the Board alluded to in this Thread, but I would suspect so.  I learned a long time ago, just because I dont agree or dislike a Member's Post, does NOT mean it should be edited, deleted, whatever.  In fact, a handsoff attitude generally garners better situations.

I can also offer this:  I absolutely GUARANTEE that if I took 75 of the "regular," Posters from that Stores, Sellers, html, T & S board and had them admitted to a warez Board, about 65 of them would get ran off within 5 Posts.

Thats not to say that ANY genre Board is any better, or worse, than any other.  It IS to say, warez Boards have more netiquette in them than fucking near any other genre Board.  Finally, (most) Boards have a feature that an Admin (or) Mod can utilize by which they can "moderate," ANY Members Post, before it goes "live."  Sounds to me like that Admin could well use some OJT.  Just my HUMBLE Opinion.

I hate acronyms. Reminds me of when I was a kid and Mom & Dad would spell out my punishment. What's OJT?

I like the way BBH handled it. He cussed me out, but left the thread uncensored. Smile

The unexcusable ignorance of the former owner and her admin sidekick was why.  They destroyed their site starting in post 25 by displaying their repugnant small minded  thoughts about folks from different cultures, races, and religions.

I think that is a great way to handle it. Open debate is what forums are all about isn't it?

[/quote]Nah. That couldn't be it. I think it has more to do with a lack of eBay conspiracy theories. Everybody wants a good conspiracy these days, even if it has to be about something as mundane as an online flea market ruining the lives of a few thousand garage sale specialists.
