A comparison of the Ubuntu and Debian linux distributions (from a Debian user)

So what's different? Well, not much. The app selection is slightly different in a default install, and of course Ubuntu has the words "Ubuntu" etched all over the place, but other than that, they are still the same. Ubuntu of course uses its own repositories. That's really it though. You can even take the different app choices in a default install out of the mix if you use apt frequently.

The real difference is if you want to be Joe or if you want to be someone whose name isn’t Joe...
