ZenCart: After Installation: Getting Started, Configuration
Step 1 after installing ZenCart: BACKUP YOUR FILES AND DATABASE! You can backupyour database by going to the Tools>Database Backup (MySQL) menu and following the instructions there. You have the choice of either saving the backup to a directory on your server or to your PC's harddrive.
If your Zen was installed with the sample products spend some time looking at them both in the store and in the admin (catalog menu) Next step is to start configuring your cart. Start with the configuration menu and work your way down and then move on to the next menu - you'll have to click on the word configure to see all configuration options because the dropdown list is too long to fit on the screen. (note: if you're using TH and we installed your cart you can skip the SEO Urls section because that is already configured). Good sources of info to get you started are: Ask questions here or on the ZenCart site's forum. Read the ZenCart Catalog FAQ and ZenCart Admin FAQ on the Zen site. The ZenCart forum also has lots of information on configuring your ZenCart at http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=19 . Read the checklists at: http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=36131 and http://www.zen-cart.com/wiki/index.php/Basic_Checklist . The second checklist in the Zen Wiki has detailed explanations of each configuration option. I'll post more later and I'll also setup separate topics on customizing Zen templates and configuring Zen mods (I'll be starting topics on each of the 31 additional mods we install with the TH Zen and adding links to their documentation). |

Re: ZenCart: After Installation: Getting Started, Configuration
There are some modules (Froogle for example) where the configuration is done in the files themselves. Links to configuring the mods coming next...

Re: ZenCart: After Installation: Getting Started, Configuration
Good info as usual regic.
I'm wondering is there a MOD for just directing my customers to LinkPoint direct? If not I'll work with the API .. I just would rather hook them up and send the data to LP connect. Until I get a ss cert. Even then... less data for me to colect or anyone else to have to hassles with... I think the better. From a security stand point I mean. :

Re: ZenCart: After Installation: Getting Started, Configuration
I couldn't find a mod for LinkPoint Connect...only the one for LinkPoint API.
If you don't want to use the API you could use Zen's generic credit card mod which just collects the card data, but then you'd have to manually process the cards through LinkPoint's virtual terminal...and the card data would be stored on your site until you removed it which is more of a security risk. Quote:less data for me to colect If you use the API the credit card data isn't stored on your server.
