Re: Ex PESA n's R US
Ermm... boo fucking hoo!

And, is it possible--I mean even REMOTELY possible for bigbill to actually reveal the details of something without stringing it out with soap opera inspired vagueries? Blehh. Excuse me while I vomit.

As someone at TRS hinted, anyone who thinks or ever thought PeSA was a non-profit organization is smoking a big fat one (or dropping acid). Nor have they ever stood for anything other than themselves (some of whom wear dork-a$$ hats and Ethical Tools t-shrits).

Double Blehh. I'd add a vomiting smiley icon here but I don't feel like opening the smiley box.

This implosion / explosion ought to be fun to watch.

Quote:Almost every time a sellers' group has formed it's the same story with a power grab undoing all of their efforts.  PeSA was/is the only sellers' group that has ever had any clout with eBay...and their clout was verrrry limited.

Since many of the policies PeSA has tried to push over the past few years would have benefitted their members at the expense of smaller sellers, I can't say I'm really sorry to see this apparent splitting in their ranks.  Hopefully if the ex-members form a rival group they'll look out for the interest of all sellers and not just a tiny minority.

Everything I have heard from people on this board, about PESA, is exactly that -- looking out for themselves, the biggest sellers, only -- to the detriment of all the others.  i.e., getting ebay to lower their 99-cent listings, while raising everyone else's to make up the difference in ebay profit.  Agreed, the demise of this type of unfair playing field seems appropriate for most sellers.

However, all groups are formed with a common interest in mind, so it's not surprising that this group was an organized picnic for large-volume sellers only.  No ants allowed....

This breakup does, however, leave a complete void right now for any kind of respected *union* representation for sellers of ANY kind.  And also leaves sort of a void for internet journalists who want a sellers' group opinion.  No?  ...as if it really mattered or made any kind of difference with regard to ebay's policies.  :Smile

Re: Ex PESA n's R US
A question for our lurker friends  Wave .  Would one of you care to explain where the word nonprofit went on the gopesa website (you know the word that was on several pages and all press releases for years) ? Angel1 (I'm horrible at trying to find things on search engines which is why I'm asking for help Smile )

For any of our lurker friends who need a refresher on what the word nonprofit looks like you can find an example here: http://web.archive.org/web/2006110615075...boutus.cfm

They did incorporate as a nonprofit in October 2005 which is why I'm wondering why the word nonprofit disappeared from the website
https://www.sos.nh.gov/corporate/soskb/Corp.asp?743048
http://www.sos.nh.gov/imaging/9542608.pdf

I couldn't find any incorporation records for the years 2003-2005 prior to the name change from PeSA to E.M.A.. (my inability to find anything is obviously a result of my horrible searching skills, because I know there is obviously a record. Angel1 )

bargainbloodhound on October 15, 2005 Wrote:The Professional eBay Sellers Alliance (PeSA )has changed its official name to E-commerce Merchants Alliance (EMA).  Despite the official name change, EMA will continue to operate under the dba name of PeSA.

Official organization bylaws of EMA/PeSA:

http://www.gopesa.org/bylaws.htm

No mention of the word nonprofit on the bylaws though

A comment from TRS:

Quote:Kind of a cool idea... start an organization and call it a non-profit. Collect thousands of dollars in sponsorships, then take it to profit status and say it never was a non-profit.

How to get rid of the profits... Oh, I know... authorize them as director fees and officer salaries!
