Has Anybody used Rosetta Stone?

I'm preparing for a medical mission in Guinea Bissau - and trying to learn a little French so that I can get around a bit better.  Has anybody actually used rosetta stone - and had good success?  I know they pay bunches of money for late night informercials, but just curious if anybody's actually had good results.  I'll probably just enroll into a Berlitz immersion course, but just curious - since I could put the files on my ipod and run around learning some of that fan-dangled french
