HostGator Blacklisting AOL Emails Problem
Sorry, Anita for the huge hijack. :
Since I don't have a static IP address with bellsouth, I reconnected, was assigned a new IP address, and got the same error message. So I guess PayPal has blacklisted a whole block of addresses? I wrote an email to bellsouth tech support, hoping that maybe it would reach someone who understood knows what *blacklist* means . . . . |

I know. I'm ranting. I'm not sure it's doing any good but I have hopes of reaching a tech support person somewhere who knows more than I do.
That's normally not very hard to do, since I don't know diddly, but I seem to be on a roll. |

HostGator Blacklisting AOL Emails Problem

Now I'm really pizzed. The error message I keep on getting is: A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed: spoof@paypal.com Connection rejected: SPAM source paypal.com is manually blacklisted. The response I got from HG, after about a dozen hours is: We have checked it & now it seems that the Paypal.com or AOl.com is blacking your local IP i.e 70.144.247.50. And it's still not fixed . . . . [/quote] That IP and the one you're using now aren't showing up on any blacklists, but theplanet.com might be on one list. http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/ip4r.ch?ip=70.144.247.50 http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/ip4r.ch?ip=hostgator.com |

HostGator Blacklisting AOL Emails Problem
Well, I sent in yet another ticket to HG when it happened with the second local IP address . . . because at the very least, if the problem IS on my end, the error messages I am getting should accurately reflect that, right?
But the person who fielded the ticket this time apparently believes that it is/was a HG problem (again, like it was with aol a few days ago) and it's fixed now. He said: Please try it again now and let me know. Paypal should be able to accept the message. Best Regards, Steve Technical Support Manager HostGator.com And I tried it and the email went through. |

Quote:believes that it is/was a HG problem I think it probably was too since they're using theplanet. There are lots of complaints on various boards about theplanet IPs being blacklisted at various times over the past few years. Quote:Pat Horton did some housecleaning. SRG has 100 fewer members then it did last month. There were a lot of negative comments about eBay on the boards last week. She must have been taking names of the 'whiners'.
"Well, Jay was so giddy that someone named Jay was involved with this site we posted our first non-eBay listing in 3 years here at Lunarbid (we tried two items at Yahoo once upon a time, they bombed)" -Marie posting in a LunarBid thread at OTWA in 2005 wins the award for 'most moronic reason ever given for choosing a venue"
"thanks twat u must have nothing better 2 do. do u talk to all your members like that. will not be recomending your site. best way to put it is TULIPTOOLS.COM IS REALLY SHIT. DONT JOIN." -pubescent owner of rinky dink off2auction.com in 2011 |

I think it's a HG/theplanet problem, too . . . since both times when they acknowledged it and said it was and that they'd fixed it, it was actually fixed. If it's not their problem, they can't fix it. (And a similar thing happened with gmail.com about two months ago, right after I started using them.)
If these are the ones I'm FINDING, gawd only knows how many more are out there that I'm NOT finding. I'm looking for a new host. Unfortunately, I just paid my freakin' hosting bill. > |
