Quote:Belle very good points. There are also other non-invasive techniques that have shown success in lessening the biochemical reactions to stressful/traumatic events. Biofeedback, relaxation therapies, are just a few. I have been using meditation lately--------it does seem to reduce the stress and is so simple to do. Also taking a yoga class. :hoxmassleigh11: |

Quote:Have you tried biofeedback? No, not really familiar with it either. What's your take on it? [/quote] It has had wonderful results. You learn how to lower your blood pressure, body temperature, pulse, and other biochemical reactions that occur in the body due to stress/anxiety. It helps with panic attacks, anxiety, even physical pain such as headaches. Think of it like a mind body workout. You can purchase equipment for home use, but it is probably a better idea to go to a clinic with trained staff to get you started. |

Do you know what type of equipment is involved? |

Belle there are many different systems available. I am posting a link to a system for sale on ebay just to give you an idea. Usually it involves sensors that you place on your fingers, and the machine gives the readout.

I think I may talk to my therapist about this and maybe give it a shot. Beats drugs, lol. |
