Amazon to remove Buyer info from Sold Ship Now emails
Quote:To protect the privacy of our customers and sellers, we will soon be changing the content of "Sold, Ship Now" e-mails.

Beginning on Thursday, February 1st, "Sold, Ship Now" e-mails will contain only the following information:

• A notification that a customer has purchased one of your products.
• The quantity and product title of the items in the order.

We will no longer be including information about the buyer, such as the buyer e-mail address, or information about the order, such as the order ID or the product ID, in the "Sold, Ship Now" e-mail.

While we have always strongly recommended that sellers use the features under Manage Your Orders in your Seller Account, with this change to "Sold, Ship Now" you will now only be able to retrieve order information using either the "View your recent Marketplace orders" or the "Search your Marketplace orders" features. Note that if you are a Pro Merchant subscriber, you can also generate Order Fulfillment Reports from your Seller Account using this path: Reports > Get Listing and Fulfillment Reports.

You can still use the "Sold, Ship Now" e-mail as a helpful reminder that you've received an order. However, remember to regularly check Seller Your Account for orders since e-mail can be subject to delivery problems that occur outside of Amazon.com’s systems...

Amazon delays changes to Sold Ship Now emails due to seller complaints
Update:

Quote:    Update: Changes to "Sold, Ship Now" e-mails

Greetings.

We previously announced an upcoming change to "Sold, ship now" e-mail notifications here:

http://www.amazonsellercommunity.com/for...dID=128134

As a result of your feedback, we have postponed this change. We will announce a new date for the change in the near future.

We want to allow plenty of time for sellers to make the transition from relying solely on e-mail order notifications. To help you make this transition, we will be providing two new notification options: an Event Notification Web Service API (Application Programming Interface) and the Amazon Services Order Notifier (ASON).

The Event Notification Web Service API documentation, including SDKs (Software Development Kits), and a beta preview of ASON will be released together soon.

We welcome your feedback on both the Event Notification Web Service and ASON. We will consider your suggestions and comments when making future improvements.

Thanks for selling with Amazon.com.

Re: Amazon to remove Buyer info from Sold Ship Now emails
I'm still waiting to see how Fillz is going to handle the change...

EDIT:  ...and I'm sure the removal of buyer addresses from the emails isn't an attempt by Amazon to get sellers to move to their new (overpriced) Fulfillment by Amazon program Smile

Update: Amazon to remove Buyer info from Sold Ship Now emails
Update: the removal of buyer info will take place "in the very near future"

Quote:Greetings.

To protect confidential customer information, and to increase the reliability and security of communications about orders, we will soon be changing the content of "Sold, ship now" e-mails. In the very near future we will be determining the final date for this change. After the change has gone into effect, the e-mail notifications will contain only the following information:

• A notification that a customer has purchased one of your products.
• The quantities and product titles of the items in the order.

We will no longer be including information about the buyer, such as the buyer e-mail address, or information about the order, such as the order ID or the product ID, in "Sold, ship now" e-mails. After the change has gone into effect, it will be necessary for you to use other methods to retrieve this information.

We have always recommended that sellers use the features in Your Seller Account to manage orders. After this change to the "Sold, ship now" e-mails goes into effect, you will still be able to use Your Seller Account to retrieve order information, using the "View your recent Marketplace orders" and the "Search your Marketplace orders" features. If you are a Pro Merchant subscriber, you can also generate Order Fulfillment Reports from Your Seller Account using this path: Reports > Get listing and fulfillment reports.

"Sold, ship now" e-mails will still notify you of new orders. However, remember to regularly check Your Seller Account for orders since e-mail can be subject to delivery problems that occur outside of Amazon.com’s systems.

Thank you for selling with Amazon.com.

Quote:et me see if I can condense this:

"You can still access the information you need, we're just making it more difficult to follow our recommendations for customer service."
Quote:It looks to be just another step in the process of making sure all buyer/seller communications have to go through Amazon, so they can watch them.
Quote:This will be more time consuming to pick pack and label orders
