What a third-party "reverse logistics" firm typically does with returned goods
Quote:"reverse logistics" specialists...are outside firms hired specifically to handle returns...

What a third-party "reverse logistics" firm typically does with returned goods:

1. About 45 per cent is returned to the supplier.

2. About 40 per cent is sent to other retailers such as Winners for liquidation, or to flea markets or eBay Inc. Or it is shipped overseas for resale.

3. About 5 per cent is sent back to the retailer for resale.

4. About 10 per cent is sent to charities or recycled (for example, aluminum sent to a smelter). Less than 1 per cent is destroyed.
