eBid has also introduced a new type of auction called Buddy Auctions.  All auctions are priced in "Buddy Points" and you can use the Buddy Points you earn to bid on Buddy Auctions....very similar to BidBayAuctionDinerBidWayAuctionCities.com 's BidBayBidWayCityBucks auctions and point system.  The question of whether eBid's eKid mascot is cuter than BidBayAuctionDinerBidWayAuctionCities.com's mascot RRRUFF! is open to debate 

Hmm, the seller of the first Buddy Auction has been an eBid member since 1998...someone named Gazza...name sounds familiar--oh yeah, now I remember, that's one of eBid's owners.

On the question of Buddy Points, I'll agree with what's her face...umm, I mean Amy and say I hope there are some controls in place to prevent a rise in non paying bidders as a result of this: "Other Methods of Earning Buddy Points: Making Bids # Using BuyNow"

Buddy Points given for bidding, buynow and feedback have been temporarily suspended whilst a fairer solution is worked on.

Our apologies for this but some extreme use of the current system has lead us to have to make these changes.

This will be added to v3.0 of our software so we will have to set back launch date a little to cater for this, not too long though.
