Re: 308 times . . .
I actually know the detective who will be assigned to investigate this. He investigated when I was the victim of identity theft a few years back. We are a small town but he's the internet fraud guy for the local Sheriff's office. I believe he coordinates with the Georgia Bureau of Investigations (our state version of the FBI) but this really doesn't take a lot of investigation. eBay has the IP address of whomever is trying hack my account and it's even here in Georgia.

[/quote] From what I gather if someone likes you or is impressed by your or is happy by something you said, etc, then they give you a positive Karma. But, if you tick them off for any reason, then they give you a negative Karma. Maybe I'm wrong but that's what I've seen on other forums that use this forum style. |

Re: 308 times . . .
eBay let the hacker get in almost 200 attempts the first time but only around 60 each the second and third time. Even so, I figure we'll be at close to 500 by Monday morning.
At this point, I really don't care to do business with eBay ever again. I'm going to sleep on it before I close my store, but I am 99% sure I am going to because I really don't care to give them another penny of my money. Of course, they'll still have all my financial information. I tried to edit it out and put a a bunch of zeros for my CC info, but the system wouldn't let me. What a shock. And what is really scary is . . . if the security screen doesn't pop up at the usual time again tomorrow . . . does that mean the hacker has stopped . . . or that they were successful? :-( |

Re: 308 times . . .
Well, the security screen was lifted early. It was actually lifted early the last time, too. It appears the hacker believes eBay really does keep them in place for 24 hours because the last batch of attempts didn't start until after the 24 hour mark. We'll see what happens this time. At least this time I'm not expecting that the problem has been resolved . . . .

Re: 308 times . . .
Quote:(SmartBlonde_330) wasn't that the one who was telling us about her stalker over at FAS???Nope. That was Rebekah *Pirates Treasure Chest*. Haven't heard from her since she lost everything and moved back home. That was the end of May. Ebay wouldn't help her, either, even with removing some 300+? negs this freak left her. Hi, Ironchick! Amazing what ebay will not do to help someone in obvious trouble, isn't it? |

Re: 308 times . . .
Stuff like this happens all the time. I remember hearing about Pirate on the stores board a few months ago. It happened to a friend of mine this summer. And eBay does nothing. Absolutely nothing.
Anyway, I had a brainstorm last night. I'm going to talk to the federal prosecutor on Monday. I'll let you guys know if anything comes of it! No security screen yet this morning. Don't know if that means no one tried to hack or if they succeeded. I'm gonna try to get a nice person on live help to check my account and see if there has been any access from an IP other than my own today. Updated to add: Live Help says that we are still at 308 and no access from other IP addresses. |

Quote:And eBay does nothing. Absolutely nothing. In Pirate's case eBay NARU'd her and allowed her stalker to remain on eBay. : Quote:Live Help says that we are still at 308 and no access from other IP addresses That's good news.
