Using Flickr to Host Your eBay and Online-Auction Photos
Quote:Online photo-hosting services are nothing new, but Yahoo's "Flickr" seems to have raised the bar (http://www.flickr.com). In the continual wars between the top dogs on the Internet (namely Google, Microsoft and Yahoo), innovative services such as Flickr also provide new possibilities for online sellers, namely a free and easy way to show photos for your auctions. full article: http://auctionbytes.com/cab/abu/y205/m10/abu0152/s03 |

Re: Using Flickr to Host Your eBay and Online-Auction Photos
Quote:Right now, I want to get the big disadvantage out of the way: you can't directly link to individual images in Flickr. You can't put a Flickr URL in your auction HTML and then expect it to show up on your auction page : : : so why suggest it as a possible host for eBay auction pictures? using one host for the main picture and linking to other photos of the item on flickr seems like a time wasting pain |

I'm all for new services--but doesn't the name "flickr" make anyone else wonder if their photos will "flicker" when viewed by auction users? ^-^

I wasn't impressed with it at all as a photo host.. Its good if you want a "social" photo hosting experience though, I think... :twistedevil: EDITED to add link to entire article on flickr http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/04/14/...ckd_again/
